About the adventure

Welcome to Barovia! This story is a tale of a dying land, bleeding at the hands of a vampires mania. New players, veteran players, and everyone in-between are all invited and welcome at my table. Players will hunt through cursed villages, ruined forests, and the endless corridors of Castle Ravenloft as they desperately try to fix what little remains of Barovia... Curse of Strahd is a darker story. As such, only adults are welcome, as there is some content that isnt particularly minor friendly. If you like impossible odds, tragedy, and a dark story where there are no true winners, this is the story for you. Here, there are no true heros... only survivors.

About me

Greetings! My name is Ryan, I have around 8 years of experience with Dungeons and Dragons 5e, most of which was off and on. Around 4 years ago however, I began DM-ing significantly more, running at least 2 games a week. Nonetheless, I have experience with both homebrew and module-based settings. I'm a rather easy-going DM all things considered, and a very staunch believer in "Flavor is free" and "The rule of cool."

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be made with either point but or rolled stats. Rolled stats must be rolled infront of the DM. Players are welcome to roll stats first, then decide if they wish to opt in for point buy instead. For best results, I suggest using DnD beyond

Safety

How Ryan creates a safe table

All players will meet up 1 on 1 with the DM to discuss boundaries, preferences, and goals within the game. Players are are actively encouraged to speak in confidence with the DM, I have an open door policy. After each session, we have a tablewide talk where all players are expected to share one thing they want to see more of, and one thing they wished would have been different. This feedback is crucial to how the modules are ran. Session 0 consists of meeting fellow players, going over expectations, and talking about what we all enjoy about DnD. Then, we will take a vote on if we are ready to begin and go straight into Session 1, or if we wish to postpone for next week.
