About the adventure

You are hired to stop a cult, who have been tormenting and assailing the villages in the region. From what the local soldiers have been able to gather, the cult seems to be trying to summon their “god”, and has been causing magical weather storms that have ravaged the land. This is a high level one-shot, combat focused to enjoy what powerful characters can do. Have a character build you've wanted to test the capabilities of at high level? Bring it on in and test it against some tough fights. Have a crazy character idea you want to explore? Bring it over and see how it feels in a one-shot before you commit to using it in a longer campaign. Want to just see what some of the upper limits of a class is capable of? Let's find out!

About me

I have been playing ttrpgs since high school (way back in the 1900's), and have been GMing for just as long. My experience is primarily in-person, theatre of the mind style play, but I have been slowly trying to expand my experience and comfort into online gaming. I love to tell a good story with other people, and especially love having to react and respond to the choices and actions of my players. Most of my experience in running games is self-created adventures and ideas, not so much module adventures. I love running games, and hope I can provide a safe space for all types of players to enjoy themselves and express their creativity.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will be done on D&D Beyond. Characters will be level 18, and we will be rolling stats, 2 sets of rolls and take your favorite. Honor system is in place here, so rolling and other parts of character creation can be done on your own. We will be using the 2024 rules, and I will provide access to those core books if you don't have them yourself. You can select any non-magical gear and items your character would need, plus 1 legendary, 1 very-rare, and 2 rare non-consumable magic items. Plus 1 very rare, 2 rare, and 2 uncommon consumable items.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We will be using dndbeyond for characters, and beyond maps VTT for the encounters. We will be using discord for staging, discussing, and voice chat while we play. You can access all with free accounts.

What Tim brings to the table

I will be providing access to my shared content on D&D Beyond, which primarily includes the 2024 core books at this time. You will also have access to my discord server, which is small right now, but I am easily reachable there. My DMing style is still focused on theatre of the mind style play, with descriptions and focused on imagination for immersion. I'm still learning how all the ropes of online ttrpg, but will utilize music and voices as best I can. I try to strike a balance between RaW and RoC, because I want to keep the core structure of balance and fairness, but allow and encourage creativity and unique/fun expression from my players.

Safety

How Tim creates a safe table

My gaming space is always safety and inclusivity first. I want all players to feel safe to express themselves, let loose, and have a fun time with fellow ttrpg fans. If at any point you feel uncomfortable with anything happening during the session, be that the scene, or another player, OR myself, message me. An X will pause whatever is happening in game, and give us a chance to discuss, either privately or over video in the game, what the cause of the discomfort was. Otherwise a quick explanation of anything that might be bothering you during the game will be read and addressed appropriately. I will never take offense to any voiced issues with something I have done or said, I am always trying to learn and grow. If another players says or does something that is an issue, I will address it immediately if I catch it. If someone else informs me, I will address the other player without bringing up whoever had an issue. I feel like I'm getting too long-winded with this, so please just know that if you join my game, I will do everything I can to make you feel safe and accepted for exactly who you are, and who you want to play.
