About the adventure

ABOUT THIS ADVENTURE A storm. A crash. A missing light. On the windswept coast of Massachusetts, a rescue mission turns into a descent into madness. The lighthouse is dark. The keeper is gone. And something ancient stirs beneath the waves… - Perfect for first-time investigators - No prep needed—just grab your character and go - One-shot mystery with cosmic consequences Will you survive the night—or become part of the legend? Step into the fog. The beacon awaits. ABOUT SAVAGE WORLDS - Fast, Furious, Fun: Streamlined mechanics keep action moving—perfect for pulpy, high-energy play. - Exploding Dice: Raises the stakes with aces (dice that explode on max rolls), adding unpredictability and cinematic flair. - Bennies: Players get tokens to reroll, soak damage, or influence the story — great for narrative agency. - Wild Cards vs Extras: Clear distinction between major and minor characters simplifies combat and storytelling. - Setting Agnostic: Easily adapts to horror, sci-fi, fantasy, noir, or mashups. - Quick Character Creation: New players can build characters in minutes, with archetypes and edges that spark creativity. - Initiative via Cards: Playing cards for initiative adds fun and supports dramatic pacing. - Creative Combat Options: Tricks, tests of will, and dramatic actions encourage player creativity and roleplay. - Scalable Crunch: Core rules are lean, but optional modules (like Powers, Chase rules, Mass Battles) let you dial up complexity when ready.

About me

I discovered roleplaying games way back in the early 1980's through an article in The Fandom Directory (a listing for comic book fans). Soon the introductory D&D boxed set was in my hot little teenaged hands. If was, sadly, difficult to find players for this new hobby. Shortly after college I was fortunate enough to fall into a group of wonderful players and we spent many a night exploring Battletech/Mechwarrior and Cyberpunk 2020. Since that time I've branched out to include many other genres and systems. These days I focus on virtual table tops, recruiting players from various Discord servers. I'm very familiar with Fantasy Grounds, Foundry VTT and Roll20. My favorite is probably Fantasy Grounds although I tend to use Foundry VTT quite a bit (and I prefer to keep it module-lite). I am also an "empty-nester" and can devote myself to lots of RPGs various days of the week.
