About the adventure

The Witchlight Carnival is in town, and something about the extravaganza pulls you towards it. A carnival that travels the planes is definitely something alluring indeed. Beyond it, lies a strange and twisted world of wonder and whimsy, but so horrific in its alien and wild nature. Navigate through this mysterious feywild, and face an array of challenges, from the temultous wilderness, to faerie creatures, and the mysterious Hourglass Coven. See what fate lies for you here, and shape the fate of the strange world you're in

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation isn't something you need to work on right way (though it's okay if you do), as we'll be talking about character creation in session 0. But here's the details: • We're using the 2024 rules, so no Legacy content. If you play something that has a 2024 version, you must use that new version. • The only changes will be regarding ability scores and origin feats, for species and backgrounds if you're using pre-2024 content • We're using point buy for ability scores, and fixed health points • I'm not outright banning 3rd Party or Homebrew content, but you'll have to chat with me first

What to expect

Preparing for the session

All you have to do is add me on Discord at AStarInGemini We'll be using Roll20 and D&D beyond, so having accounts for both of those are great too

What AStarInGemini brings to the table

Firstly, I'll be bringing all of the maps and ambient sounds and music to the table through Roll20, to ensure we can set the scenes a little better, and the game can be more immersive. I also bring a lot of content through D&D beyond, so there'll be a lot of options for character creation and for the game. This includes the adventure itself, but also things like the updated 2024 rules which you will have access to As a DM, I tend to lean into the creepy moments a little, so a lot of my games sort of have a slight horror vibe to them at times. I also tend to lean a lot into the roleplay side, filling the world with NPCs and giving players the options to progress through the story with either combat or roleplay

Homebrew rules

The only rule I'm set on using is flanking, for a +2 to hit. Any other homebrew rules can be discussed in session 0

Safety

How AStarInGemini creates a safe table

• I provide lots of opportunities for players to communicate content they don't want to see in the game, including a private call before the session 0, the session 0 itself, and also private channels in the discord server • We always take a break every session, around half way through • Roll20 has a built in deck that players can use to drag an anonymous X (stop) card onto the map if something needs to stop
