About the adventure
Throughout history, humans have shared their land with vaesen – legendary and magical creatures inhabiting the forests and the lakes of the Mythic North. The creatures are imperceptible to the human eye – they choose whether to reveal themselves. It is said that their presence may be inferred from something as innocuous as a draft in the room, or from the abnormal behaviour of farm animals. For generations, there was balance - vaesen would even help the hard, back-breaking lives of humans. However, something has altered the balance between the humans on the surface and the creatures beneath. Vaesen have started attacking villages and destroying homes, factories, and train stations. They no longer behave as they do in the stories. Some think they have gone mad, others that the end times are nigh. In this game, you take on the role of a "Thursday's Child" - a person with the Sight, meaning that you have the ability to see vaesen (even when they are trying to remain invisible). You have received visions of Castle Gyllencreutz in your dreams and have been compelled to investigate. What is its secret?

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hi everyone! I'm Dan and I love great stories. I've played all kinds of tabletop games over the years and I especially love the magic that roleplaying games create. I loved learning different systems and genres while exploring RPGs, which meant I usually became the GM! Fast forward, and I am now a grown-up (allegedly!) and have spent over a decade as a coach and facilitator for teams. In recent years I've dived back into the tabletop world, and I discovered that my love for facilitation and collaboration made me enjoy and excel at being a GM that much more. So come and play some games with me - I can promise you action, empathy and games that have all my love and experience poured into them!

Creating your character
There are five pre-generated characters to choose from, which you can choose once you have signed up for the adventure: first-come, first-served! However, if none of the characters appeal, we can create a new character together to use for the adventure.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We will play on the Alchemy VTT. This requires a free account, and I recommend that you sign up before the adventure to make the game go as smoothly as possible for everyone. We will use Discord for voice communication, so make sure that you have a Discord account before the game - you will receive an invitation to the server after you sign up.
What GM Dan brings to the table
I love to create an immersive cinematic environment for my players. Each of the scenes I create has evocative artwork and ambient sounds that take you into the world. The most important thing for me is that my players are having fun, and we are telling a fun and engaging story together. My GM style is to err on the side of storytelling over rules lawyering. Good stories also benefit from good characters, and I populate the world with interesting characters that I voice with their own personalities.

How GM Dan creates a safe table
We will use the built-in safety tools of Alchemy. When you create your Alchemy account, you can specify your personal lines and veils. Within the game itself is an easily accessible X-Card, which you can use to immediately halt play should you find any content troubling or otherwise triggering.
