About the adventure

In Thylea, the age of heroes is ending. The oaths that once held gods and titans at peace are ending. Prophecy whispers of ruin, of the end times, and of a handful of souls destined to stand at the heart of it all. Will you rise to claim your place among legends? Or will you be swallowed by the very myths that shaped you? You’ll explore sacred groves, cursed islands, immortal courts, and ancient battlegrounds where pride toppled empires. Every quest tests your courage. Every victory brings you fame - but fame is a fickle mistress. Here, the world does not need adventurers. It needs heroes willing to carry the weight of fate. Even when that fate demands everything.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You,ll need a free Roll20 account, a discord account and a free DndBeyond account.

What Martin brings to the table

We’ll handle character creation together in Session 0. If you want help building a backstory or tying your character into Thylea, I’m happy to brainstorm with you. Ability Scores: Standard array. Allowed Books: Player’s Handbook, Xanathar’s Guide to Everything, and Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything and of course, Odyssey of the Dragonlords is encouraged. Character Guidelines: We’ll make characters together in Session 0. Use standard array, start at Level 2, and build on D&D Beyond. Your character should fit a world of prophecy, oaths, and gods. You can be mortal, demi-god, cursed, chosen, exiled—anything tied to myth. Magic exists, but it carries divine weight and expectations. Every hero has a destiny. Every destiny has a cost. Allowed books: PHB, Xanathar’s, Tasha’s, and the ODL Player Guide.

Homebrew rules

We'll go over homebrew rules in session 0.

Safety

How Martin creates a safe table

Player safety is a priority at my table. Before we begin, I provide a short Lines & Veils / safety preferences form so players can note their comfort levels privately. In Session 0, we’ll cover expectations, boundaries, tone, and any potential triggers in the campaign so everyone starts on the same page. During play, I use simple digital X, N, and O signals (typed in chat or spoken aloud—whichever is most comfortable) to make sure everyone feels safe and heard. Anyone can pause a scene at any time, no explanation required. After each session, I check in with players just to make sure everyone feels good about the events of the game and to adjust anything that didn’t land well. My goal is a table where everyone feels respected, included, and safe to roleplay boldly.
