About the adventure

Once you lived in your typical Fantasy world, but thanks to a misguided magical experiment, the world is unravelling. Dimensional rifts spill chaos across the land - storms made of arguments, unionised monsters with grievances, and landscapes that rewrite themselves overnight. The Kingdom is overwhelmed, inept and more interested in debating which letterhead to use for the official Disaster Proclamation - that's where you come in. You are Freelancers, adventurers for hire, standing between fragile communities and the madness pouring in. Your adventures will pit your abilities and wits against monsters, magic, and mayhem. Along the way, you might be chased by creatures that argue louder than they fight, rescue travellers lost in a forest where the trees debate philosophy, or dodge the repeat requests from the office to file your paperwork! The tone is witty and light‑hearted, but the stakes are real. People need champions who can laugh in the face of absurdity and still rise to the occasion. Inspired by Discworld, Monty Python, and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, this campaign blends comedy with courage — giving you space to be both the hero and the punchline. Whether you’re new to TTRPGs or a seasoned adventurer, expect a fast‑paced, episodic ride where every session brings a new challenge, a new laugh, and a new chance to prove that even in a world gone ridiculous, heroes matter. NOTE: Your Session Zero is completely free and will be discounted before the session.

About me

Hi everyone! I'm Dan and I love great stories. I've played all kinds of tabletop games over the years and I especially love the magic that roleplaying games create. I loved learning different systems and genres while exploring RPGs, which meant I usually became the GM! Fast forward, and I am now a grown-up (allegedly!) and have spent over a decade as a coach and facilitator for teams. In recent years I've dived back into the tabletop world, and I discovered that my love for facilitation and collaboration made me enjoy and excel at being a GM that much more. So come and play some games with me - I can promise you action, empathy and games that have all my love and experience poured into them!

Character creation

Creating your character

We will be creating our characters together as part of Session Zero, but you are more than welcome to discuss character concepts ahead of time with me and other players via my Discord server. We will be using the standard Daggerheart character creation rules, and you will be able to select any Tier One equipment listed in the rulebook. We will not be using any content from The Void (playtest rules) as part of character creation.

The current party

This is a brand new campaign, so we will be creating the characters together soon! It's the perfect time to sign up and have some brilliant Daggerheart fun.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We will be playing the game on the Foundry VTT system, and you will be sent a link to the server before Session Zero. We will be using Discord for voice communication, and you will have access to my Discord Server as a place to discuss the campaign with the other players. If you don't already have a Discord profile, it will be helpful to make one before Session Zero. Once you have joined the campaign, I will send you an invite link to the server. It's essential that you have a decent microphone, a relatively quiet place to play, and a reliable internet connection. The setting we will play in is light-hearted, based on dry, witty British humour. If you want to get yourself inspired, I recommend watching/listening to/reading Monty Python, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Terry Pratchett stories, and Red Dwarf. I can also recommend the movie Office Space as a great inspiration for the comically absurd bureaucracy that plagues the realm!

What GM Dan brings to the table

I love to create an immersive cinematic environment for my players. Each of the scenes I create has evocative artwork and ambient sounds that take you into the world. The most important thing for me is that my players are having fun, and we are telling a fun and engaging story together. My GM style is to err on the side of storytelling over rules lawyering. Good stories also benefit from good characters, and I populate the world with interesting characters that I voice with their own personalities. As a British person, that means that you will also get an authentic Movie Bad Guy accent!

Homebrew rules

The campaign frame has a few additional mechanics, which will be covered in full during Session Zero. They are very lightweight and are designed to add flavour to the setting.

Safety

How GM Dan creates a safe table

We will be using safety tools built into Foundry. Our X,N,O etc. cards are displayed digitally. These can be public or just sent to the GM for anonymity. We can discuss this and any other psychological safety aspects when we discuss our needs as part of Session Zero. This can include additional mechanisms/techniques, should you wish. Typically, I use Discord as a way to touch base with my players and make sure everyone feels comfortable and is having fun. This can always be done privately through dedicated channels or DMs.
