About the adventure

You, me, and your fellow players are going to sit down with Daggerheart's little one-shot ad lib sheet, decide on a setting and characters, and build a fun little story together over the course of a session or two. What will its tone be? Well, that will be up to us in the moment. Each of these sessions will be bespoke stories, just for the party playing, as any good game of Daggerheart should be. Do we want a tale of hope, of loss, of love, or just a good old-fashioned dungeon crawl? Any of the above or a mix thereof. Does it sound like a lot up front? Sure, but it's also led to some of the most fun sessions I've been involved with, both as a player and GM, and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with how smooth the process is!

About me

I've been immersed in worlds fantastical and speculative for most of my life and grew up writing way too many bits of stories to ever keep up with and recently discovered a burgeoning passion for storytelling via tabletop (including the virtual variety) and am looking to wet my whistle DMing for folks who I haven't already known for years! This is where you come in. Are you new(ish) to the world of tabletop RPGs and want to spend some time growing with a group of other (relatively) inexperienced players so we can all sharpen our storytelling skills together? Oh, you are? Great! Let's be friends and burn through some modules together and hopefully have a good enough time to start a full fledged campaign or two (or five). Most experienced with 5E, but have been working with the 2024 ruleset; Candela Obscura; or going back to my longest running (as a player) TTRPG, FFG's Star Wars Edge of the Empire/Age of Rebellion/Force and Destiny.

Character creation

Creating your character

I will happily help with level one character creation (more than open higher level/tier characters if all players are comfortable with it.) Characters should be built on demiplane, which shares a login with Roll20, so if you have one, you have the other.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Be sure to have an account on discord and demiplane/roll20. Beyond that, message me on discord, making sure to mention this is where you're coming from, and we'll get started!

What omniphobe - David brings to the table

Am I good with voices? Not yet. Am I good at showing my players a good time? I would like to think so. I tend towards rule of cool more often than not, using RAW as default to inform what direction we can bend the game in. We usually have some ambient and combat music, respectively. I love an RP-heavy group, and do like to vet my players a little before I put them at a table together to make sure everyone will play well together! Expect silly nonsense, the occasional tearjerker, and, being one(or two!) shots, a higher level of danger and drama than your average session.

Homebrew rules

I love a good "oh, you needed at 17 and rolled a 16. what are you willing to sacrifice to succeed?" moment. Everything malleable without being willy-nilly.

Safety

How omniphobe - David creates a safe table

I am always open, either in the moment or privately, for any issues that should arise in session. I'll also be providing you a checklist for what themes the party is comfortable broaching so you can illustrate your boundaries.
