About omniphobe - David
I've been immersed in worlds fantastical and speculative for most of my life and grew up writing way too many bits of stories to ever keep up with and recently discovered a burgeoning passion for storytelling via tabletop (including the virtual variety) and am looking to wet my whistle DMing for folks who I haven't already known for years! This is where you come in. Are you new(ish) to the world of tabletop RPGs and want to spend some time growing with a group of other (relatively) inexperienced players so we can all sharpen our storytelling skills together? Oh, you are? Great! Let's be friends and burn through some modules together and hopefully have a good enough time to start a full fledged campaign or two (or five). Most experienced with 5E, but have been working with the 2024 ruleset; Candela Obscura; or going back to my longest running (as a player) TTRPG, FFG's Star Wars Edge of the Empire/Age of Rebellion/Force and Destiny.

I got started GMing...
I got started GMing when I realized my desire to be a part of telling stories superceded the imposter syndrome I feel asking people to sit at my table. I'd rather have nerves about GMing than not get to play at all. And so far, I have loved every session with the awesome weirdos who play with me.
How omniphobe - David runs games
Love when players are engaged with each other, especially from a role playing perspective. Not great with voices, but am working on it. Love experimenting with weird backstory twists, big swinging battles, and finding ways and rolls to let players do things in as creative a way as they want. Very much love a give and take between myself and players and expect everyone to be respectful and kind to each other. Doesn't mean everyone has to agree with folks' ideals, just that they don't infringe on anyone's ability to have their moments, feel comfortable, and have a great time. That's the whole point, isn't it?

My games focus on...
My focus is always on providing my players with the necessary tools to have a great time without it becoming a complete free-for-all, using RAW as a baseline, but bowing to Rule of Cool whenever the moment calls for it.
