About the adventure

Welcome to Phandalin, a growing town on the edge of the wild. Settlers, merchants, and wanderers from across the realm have gathered here to build a new life. But with opportunity comes danger. Convicts turned settlers, missing caravans, and rumours of a villain shifting in the dark. Trouble is brewing, and Phandalin needs help to stay standing. This adventure is perfect for new and returning players who want to experience the heart of D&D: teamwork, creativity, and choice. You’ll explore the frontier, meet memorable characters, and uncover secrets that shape the town’s future. The story rewards curiosity and bold ideas, whether you fight, negotiate, or invent your own solutions. How I run the game: I keep things flowing and flexible. Expect maps and visuals for clarity, but a focus on theatre of the mind where your imagination leads. The rules won’t get in your way. I’ll guide you through as much or as little as you need. Combat has weight, roleplay has meaning, and teamwork makes for the best stories. Phandalin is small, rough, and full of potential. Together, we'll decide what kind of place it becomes and what kind of heroes you’ll be remembered as.

About me

Hi Legends! I was introduced to D&D in 2019, started GM'ing shortly after, and I just haven't stopped loving being part of the table since! I'm a proud nerd and inside guy who never seems to get bored of video games, manga, music and TTRPGS. MY PURPOSE - to introduce others to the incredible journeys that Table Top Role Playing Games have to offer, where the epic moments in a session stick with you as memories for years, put warmth in your chest, and a big grin on your face. See you there!

Character creation

Creating your character

we will create characters in the free session 0 and discord chat. The characters will be made in D&D Beyond. I have created premade characters for this campaign as an option. Level 1 start. 2x sets of 4d6 drop the lowest and pick between them for stats. Characters can be created with D&D 5e 2024 core and expanded rules. I welcome 3rd party and homebrew 5e content. Please message me regarding these characters.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need to join the campaign through your free D&D Beyond account and add your character. The game will be played through discord voice chat within my server, using a microphone is essential, webcam is optional but encouraged.

Safety

How Elijah Von creates a safe table

I run a session 0 to ensure the adventure is a good fit for everyone, accommodating any concerns or content boundaries you might have as a player. I am open to applying and evolving current safety tools for my players' use during sessions, and I am always open to messaging from my players about the content as the adventure continues, both in and out of the session. Each session, there will be a 10-minute break in the middle and a 10+ minute debrief at the end.
