About the adventure

Lelonia: The Living Isle of Myths and Storms In the heart of the Shattered Seas lies Lelonia, an untamed island of wonder and danger, where magic hums through the trees, ancient ruins whisper forgotten names, and every coastline hides a legend. Once a peaceful land of trade and unity, Lelonia has fractured into eight distinct states—Holia, Wincland, Whitham, Whithambe, Barbuse, Lunaris, Krak, and Olzan—each ruled by their own customs, creatures, and secrets. From the glowing jungles of Lunaris to the mist-cloaked cliffs of Wincland, every step across Lelonia promises adventure, mystery, and the chance to make your mark on a world in flux. This setting is a living frontier—a wild blend of high fantasy exploration, pirate intrigue, and primal survival. Empires and adventurers alike battle for control over the island’s magical ley lines, while native races such as the Fuzzy Buzzy tribes, Hadozee sky sailors, Triton deep-guardians, Sahuagin warbands, Oni mystics, and Lizardfolk clans fight to reclaim what was once theirs. In the midst of this chaos stands a fragile Trading Post for Allied Races, where uneasy alliances are forged and broken daily. Beyond its walls, twenty Points of Interest dot the landscape—from the Whispering Peaks to the Sunken Spire of Barbuse—each holding ancient power or deadly peril. Lelonia is designed for players who crave discovery, diplomacy, and danger. This isn’t just a place to swing a sword—it’s a land to shape with your choices. Will you become a savior, a conqueror, or just another name lost to the jungle’s hungry vines? Whether you’re a treasure hunter seeking lost relics, a ship captain battling the pirate Blackwind across the coasts, or a hero unraveling the island’s arcane heart, Lelonia offers a world where every legend begins with a spark of curiosity—and ends with a storm. Perfect for players who love rich lore, strange creatures, and moral gray zones, Lelonia invites you to explore a setting that evolves with your party’s actions. Your story is not written—it’s grown, fought for, and remembered in the winds that sweep across the island. Welcome to Lelonia. The island is alive… and it remembers.

Character creation

Creating your character

Creating Your Lelonian Adventurer When building a character for Lelonia, think beyond stats and gear—think about why your hero has come to this mysterious island. Are you a native defending your homeland’s fading traditions, or an outsider drawn by tales of treasure, magic, and glory? Lelonia thrives on character-driven storytelling, so your backstory should connect to the island’s living world in some way. Maybe you seek vengeance against the pirates of the Red Corsairs, want to unlock the secrets of the Sunken Spire, or simply dream of uniting the fractured races under one banner. All standard races and classes from Dungeons & Dragons 5e are welcome here, but Lelonia also celebrates unique cultures and hybrids. Players can choose to play as one of Lelonia’s native peoples—the honey-coated Fuzzy Buzzy tribes, the agile Hadozee skyfolk, the oceanic Tritons and Sahuagin, the mystical Oni, or the proud Lizardfolk clans. Each race ties deeply into the setting, with its own capital city, beliefs, and rivalries. If you play a more traditional race (like elves or humans), think about what brought your kind to Lelonia—are you a sailor from the Imperial Navy, a scholar from distant lands, or a mercenary caught in the crossfire of the island’s wars? Characters begin at Level 1 or 2, seasoned enough to survive the island’s dangers but still green to its mysteries. Focus on motivation and personality as much as mechanics—your character’s goals and morals will shape how the island responds to you. Lelonia rewards teamwork, curiosity, and risk-taking. Expect your choices to have lasting consequences as your actions ripple through the eight states and their delicate balance of power. Most importantly, lean into the tone of Lelonia: part swashbuckling adventure, part mythic survival story, and part political intrigue. Whether you’re a charming rogue forging shady alliances, a druid communing with the island’s ancient spirits, or a warrior defending the fragile peace, you are part of a grand saga waiting to be written. So grab your map, ready your steel, and prepare to step onto Lelonia—the Isle That Lives.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Session Prep Info! Here’s how we’ll run things: We’ll be using D&D Beyond for characters and rolls. Once everyone joins, I’ll send out the campaign link so you can hop in. We’ll be using Discord for voice chat. I’ll drop the server invite link when we’re ready. I’ll be streaming the map so everyone can see what’s going on without needing extra software. Make sure you’ve got a Discord account and a D&D Beyond account set up before game time so everything runs smoothly. That’s it! Show up with your dice-rolling fingers ready and we’ll jump into the adventure

What Black Teostra brings to the table

What I Will Provide as Your DM As your Dungeon Master, here’s what you can expect from me during our adventure together: Rules & Fairness – I run the game using rules as written but also embrace the rule of cool. If something makes the game more fun, I’ll work with you to make it happen. Atmosphere & Immersion – I’ll use ambient music and soundscapes to bring scenes to life and set the mood for exploration, combat, and roleplay. Critical Moments – I’ll be using a custom critical success and critical failure chart to make big rolls more dramatic and memorable. Storytelling – I’ll do my best with character voices to help distinguish NPCs and give the world personality, even if I’m not a professional voice actor. Engagement – My goal is to make sure everyone at the table has moments to shine, whether that’s through combat, roleplay, or creative problem-solving. Together, we’ll create a story that balances challenge, heroism, and fun

Homebrew rules

Homebrew Rules Starting Boon – Every character begins the adventure with one healing potion (Potion of Healing, 2d4+2) and one free reroll they can use during the session. The reroll may be spent on any d20 roll (attack, save, skill check). Unused rerolls do not carry over. Cinematic Inspiration – If a player describes an action in a particularly creative, heroic, or entertaining way, they may be awarded Inspiration (advantage on one roll). Rule of cool applies—don’t be afraid to get flashy. Critical Twists – On a natural 20 or natural 1, we’ll roll on a custom critical success/failure chart to add extra drama, risk, or reward to big moments. This keeps every roll exciting and unpredictable. Teamwork Triumphs – When two or more players coordinate a plan that relies on clever teamwork (such as combining abilities, spells, or environmental features), they gain advantage on one part of the attempt—success through collaboration is celebrated. Last Stand Rule – If a character drops to 0 HP, they may choose to make a Last Stand attack before falling unconscious. This is one melee/ranged spell or weapon attack taken immediately, representing a final desperate effort.

Content, jokes, or actions that cross agreed-upon Lines and Veils will be avoided.
