About the adventure
For 3000 years your people have lived in the land of Myrentar. It has never been a peaceful existence, the land resists those who try to tame it. Despite that, several kingdoms were built and have persisted through the entire history of this land. The time of myth from the settlement of the region is now merely legends. The land is still dangerous, and that danger offers opportunity. Within safe walls is a world of politics, petty bickering, and religious debate that necessitates bodyguards, spies, and saboteurs. Outside the walls are ruins with lost knowledge, kingdoms of hostile creatures, plenty of monsters, and long lost spoils. To survive you have to take on these kinds of jobs, because you aren't fit for other work. At least there's ample opportunity. Join the adventurers of Myrentar to carve out a name for yourself or die trying! This game uses a custom hack of Chronicles of Darkness to adapt the game to fantasy play. This includes character options for magic that doesn't interact with Mage the Awakening. Enjoy one of the best written rpgs in this new light through this fantasy sandbox game!

About me
Hello, my name is Oscar and I am a game designer and active GM! I hope to GM a wide variety of games for an equally wide variety of people so that I can experience more perspectives on TTRPG's. I like the strange and the niche and want to bring unique TTRPG experiences to life! I've been a GM since 2017 and in that time I have run a number of different types of game. From galaxy spanning space adventures to gritty and cruel low fantasy I can run a variety of different tones and settings. I tend towards more combat but I am just as happy to run more story and role-play focused games. I'm not overly attached to any one system, and if I don't already know it I'm happy to learn it. I've actively run Exalted, Lancer, Crowns, Five Torches Deep, and Shadow of the Demon Lord as well as familiarized myself with Eclipse Phase, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 4e, Chronicles of Darkness, Pathfinder 2e, and Cyberpunk RED

Creating your character
Characters will be created at the table with the group. Players who join late will receive a private, paid, session 0 with the storyteller to make a character that matches the group.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need a microphone, computer with internet, forge-vtt.com account, discord account, and google drive account. Players will also need the Chronicles of Darkness Core book available at https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/168428/chronicles-of-darkness
What Oscar C. brings to the table
I will provide maps, music, character voices, and custom rules to make Chronicles of Darkness a fantasy game.
Homebrew rules
There have been a number of alterations to core Chronicles of Darkness to make it into a homebrew game. The number of starting merit dots mortals receive has increased, there is a magic system available to mortals that does not interact with Mage the Awakening, some Ephemeral Being classifications have been rewritten, some skill names have been changed to match a more fantasy focused setting.

How Oscar C. creates a safe table
This game will use a session 0 to set player expectations, make characters, and discuss safety tools. This game also uses X,N,O cards for player safety during game. X cards stop the game if content that players are uncomfortable with comes up, N cards are used when a player feels content that could lead to an X card is coming, and O cards are used to check in on a player if you feel content may have upset them. This game uses the Lines and veils safety tools. Lines are content that players do not want in the game at all. Veils are content that players only want hinted at. The default lines and veils at this table are No Sexual Assault, No Racism, No Homophobia, No Misogyny. This game will have a 10 minute break if it goes beyond the 2 hour mark. This game also has an open door policy, so players are free to leave for any reason if they need to.
