About me
I have been playing Roleplaying games for over 40 years starting with the original white box set of Dungeons and Dragons. My games are a mix of welcome laughter of group having a great time sprinkled with the gasps of that group wondering if they are going to live through the session. My games are not themed around being the biggest best most powerful <insert your character class> who has ever lived. I think the best games are with characters who have flaws and need to work around those flaws and are able to use those flaws to help with good roleplay.

Creating your character
Character creation will be done in a free one on one "session 0". Options from the 2024 Players Handbook, Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, and Xanathar's Guide to Everything will be available. Players can use any of the 3 three options listed in the Player's Handbook to generate their stats.

What Kerry Drake brings to the table
Players in the session will have full access to the Players Handbook, Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, and Xanathar's Guide to Everything in DND Beyond as Shared Content. I play background theme music during my sessions and am known for including sound effects throughout the game. I'm not a great voice actor but I don't let that stop me from trying, and I hope the same applies to my players. I run mostly Rules as Written, but almost never say "You can't do that." I'm more likely to say, "Tell me how you want to try to do that, and how you envision it working." Remember, the end goal is for everyone to have fun.
Homebrew rules
Healing Potions As Written, drinking any potion is a Bonus Action. Drinking a healing potion as bonus action works as written, However House Rule If a player uses a FULL action to drink the potion the potion will heal the maximum damage of the potion type, no rolls needed. The optional 2014 rule for flanking will also be used: In D&D 5e (2014), flanking is an optional rule from the Dungeon Master's Guide where two allies on opposite sides of an enemy grant each other advantage on melee attack rolls. To flank, a straight line drawn between the centers of two allies' squares must pass through opposite sides or corners of the enemy's square.

How Kerry Drake creates a safe table
On session zero we will discuss Lines and Veils and go over the general tone for the game. I will provide everyone a copy of the Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist (which will be private) to help establish a comfortable base line for the campaign.
