About the adventure
The Cult of the Dragon is bringing about a dragon apocalypse. Their final goal is to summon Tiamat, Queen of Dragons, to the realm. The factions of the Sword Coast are too slow and too selfish to stop them in time. The people cry out for heroes. Explore the length of the Sword Coast, from an ancient tomb in the frozen Spine of the World to the reality-warping maze surrounding a wizard’s tower. Face cultists and the dragons they worship in brutal, tactical battles. Balance fragile alliances in tense councils to rally allies for the final confrontation against Tiamat. The fate of Faerun rests in your hands. Rise of Tiamat is a D&D 5e adventure that takes you from level 9 to 16. Expect a uniquely revised adventure: - Deep narratives filled with voiced characters, personalised sub-plots, and choices that meaningfully influence the course of the campaign! - Satisfying combat designed to challenge tactical players and highlight your heroics! - Customized & curated maps, music, monsters, and magic items! Will you rise to defy Tiamat and her cultists, or let the world fall to her tyranny?

About me
Hi! I'm Ollie, a Creative Writing Graduate and Dungeon Master of six years looking to provide players with the fantastic experience you deserve! If you're a new player, don't worry. I have plenty of experience running D&D for new players, so I can personally guide you through the process of creating a character you'll love and learning the rules relevant to you! At my table, you can expect epic narratives that combine unique, tactical combat and immersive roleplaying scenes. I'll work with you to ensure that your character is a part of the world - NPCs from your background will show up, your character's goals will be met, and your backstory will be relevant! Whether you enjoy heroic fantasy for the immense monster slaying or high-stakes negotiation scenes, you're sure to find your place at my table! Inclusivity and player comfort is absoutely vital to me. No matter your background, you have a spot at my (virtual) table! Let's slay some dragons together! :)

Creating your character
Character creation will be done in Session 0. This allows everyone to work together to create a party of unique characters that work together. Guidelines for character creation: Sources allowed: - All 2024 Core & Expanded Rules - Any non-legacy options from the following 2014 Expanded Rules: (SotDQ (feats only), FToD, GotG, MotM, SCAG, SCoC (spells only), TCoE, VRGtR, XGtE) - Unearthed Arcana & Homebrew subject to approval (tweaks & updates to older subclasses available) - No 3rd-party content Technical Details: - Milestone Levelling, starting at 9 & ending at 16 - Fixed HP - Custom Backgrounds are allowed (Origin Feat-adjacent options like Strike of the Giants & Knight of Solamnia will be considered Origin Feats) - Point Buy Stats - Standard Starting Equipment + 5,000gp (or equivalent in non-magical adventuring gear) - Each character will begin with some magic items (this will be discussed in Session 0; I'll ask each player for a wishlist of up to 10 magic items they'd like) Theserules are open to discussion - my priority is ensuring the rules facilitate your fun, and that your character concept can be properly realised within the rules!

How Ollie creates a safe table
Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist: - All players are required to fill out a consent checklist of topics that could cause discomfort during gameplay, indicating Green (enthusiastic consent), yellow (uncertain), or red (hard no). Everyone's answers will be anonymously communicated to the group. Session 0 Outline: (free for all players!) - Everyone will receive a copy of the RPG Consent Checklist to fill out before session 1. - Social Contract Discussion: This is a chance or everyone to get on the same page about their expectations of what is & isn't okay at the game table. (I.E: How much out-of-game talk do you like? How do you feel about PC-conflict?) - Gameplay Discussion: This is your opportunity to give your opinion on how you'd like the game to be run, and to ask me any questions about how I DM. (I.E: What are your thoughts on PC death? When do I call for ability checks?) - Character creation! I like to start character creation as a group, to ensure everyone gets a chance to make their character unique. This is also a chance for me to answer any questions you may have about the world / adventure, and help you to integrate your character into the world. I use DnDBeyond for character sheets Open Door Policy: If there's ever anything you want/need to discuss with me, I carry an open-door policy. Your safety, comfort, and fun are my priorities. Breaks: - Each session will include a break at about the half-way mark. Break duration will be discussed in Session 0, but typically lasts around 10 minutes. Stars & Wishes: - At any point, you'll be able to leave your Stars & Wishes in a dedicated Discord channel for me to see. Respectful feedback will always be appreciated.
