About the adventure
The evil Lich Lord Skelerock rules the lands of Progalyptica with a bony fist. The Dominion of Skel has been spreading from Bonham Bay towards the Shrine of the Blue Oyster Cult. Mutant riders on Smog-Steeds, automaton vehicles that spew toxic fumes, thunder across the lands decimating all in their path. Only the River Rush and the Misty Mountains prevent them from gong further. Will Skelerock's war rouse the ultimate neutral power? The Priests of Syrinx and their mysterious temple have remained quiet for centuries. They are the only thing Skelerock fears. Welcome to the world of Queer Prog Gobsmack. This is retro-dark-D&D 5e at its finest. You are living in the free territories of Skullpatch Island. War has been brewing on the mainland for some time now. The pirate clans of Skullpatch Island have a weapon that protects the island, but its power is running low. You must travel to the mainland and retrieve Haz Crystals, forge alliances, and strike at the heart of the enemy, Lord Skelerock and the Dominion of Skell. You will need to fight or sneak across miles of enemy territory to retrieve the crystals you need, discover treasure, and work to overthrow Skelerock. You will face dangers the likes of which you have never seen and only heard of in nightmarish stories told around the campfire at night. ☠︎︎ You can try to infiltrate the legendary Temple of Syrinx, built by a very advanced ancient race. It might hold the treasure you seek. ☠︎︎ Or you can journey to the Night City, an underground Dwarven kingdom. ☠︎︎ You can even try paying your respects to the Shrine of the Blue Oyster Cult. The lands of Sattoon are yours to explore. How you go about fulfilling the mission is up to you. While this is cartoon-inspired, it will also be one of the deadly worlds you play in. This is a Western Marches-style game. Pop in, pop out from week to week. Each week players can tackle different one-shots that feed into a larger story arc that is heavily influenced by each individual session. This is perfect for players who cannot commit to a regular game, but want to take part in something that is larger than a one-shot. For those seeking a campaign, I connect all of these sessions together, so you can always continue leveling up a character and playing a larger role in world-building. 🧝🏽♀️This will be a new player-friendly game. 🏴☠️You can play a pirate! 👑You will have a lot of player agency in what and how we do things. 🌈This is a safe and inclusive space. 👰🏽Lines and Veils (safety protocols) every session. ☮️You can choose non-violent solutions. 🧙🏾♂️This game will be played in Roll20. This game is heavily inspired by rock and metal bands and songs from the 1980s, such as Rush, Blue Oyster Cult, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Queen, Heart, etc. If you need inspiration for your character idea, I would suggest starting with these.

About me
I am a queer friendly DM/GM and I am they/them femme myself. I am a professional writer and creator. I have a lot of knowledge about social anxiety and using games for that. I have run many workshops for RPGs and worked with new players for decades. I hosted a DnD server for 200 people during 2020-2021. I am also a huge board game nerd and I run a monthly Queer Game Night. I know how to work with a variety of groups and group needs. I create safe space gaming for all identities. I would rather have you world-build than just hex-crawl. I can be booked for private and custom games. See my time availability. I currently offer DnD one-shots. I offer Date Night DnD romance adventures from the Red Light Library for couples, throuples, and friends with roleplaying benefits. I have official WotC campaigns, both short and long, that I can run for you, including Temple of Annihilation, Princes of the Apocalypse, Curse of Strahd, Rhyme of the Frostmaiden, and others. I often tweak or rework these to be more gender-neutral or queer. I can do custom DnD, Fate, Achtung! Cthulhu, Fallout, Coyote and Crow, or other game systems for you and your group. I am currently offering Stranger Morning Cartoons, a 4-5 session mini-campaign set in a world based on 1980s cartoons and rock music.

What to expect
Preparing for the session
Roll up a PC if you want to before the game starts. I will have pregens. You can also use your DnD Beyond app to make rolls in Roll20. If this is just going to be a one-shot for you, maybe don't overthink it. If you plan on developing a character over time, putting time and effort into your backstory will not be a waste of time. We'll work as much of that into the world as we can. This game is inspired by cartoons like Dungeons and Dragons, She-Ra, He-Man, Thundarr the Barbarian, The Herculoids, and comics such as Conan and Kamandi, both the comic and film Heavy Metal and Ralph Bakshi's Wizards. It is also very heavily inspired by rock and metal bands and songs from the 1980s, such as Rush, Blue Oyster Cult, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Queen, Heart, etc. If you need inspiration for your character idea, I would suggest starting with these.
What Jeri Starr brings to the table
I do voices, I have amazing virtual gaming skills, I know a lot about literature and cultures, I know how to keep the dice rolling and the adventure moving. You are going to have a blast. I am pretty rules as written (RAW) as far game mechanics go, but I do not let game mechanics slow us down or prevent us from doing cool stuff, so Rule of Cool is always in play. I keep these games a safe space for everyone, and I give players a lot of agency in how we play the game. I will only keep you "on the rails" as much as needed to complete a one-shot game. I like a lot of roleplaying and I will favor that over routine combats. You will definitely get at least one challenge in every game, whether that is combat or a puzzle or mystery, etc. You will get to roll a lot of dice. If you are new we will help you and the virtual character sheets make learning DnD super easy.
