Hallaster Blackcloak sipped a glass of wine in his study far under Waterdeep. “Do you think he will go along with it?” He asked the mirror against the wall. “He’s not known for working well with others.” Acererak the Archlich looked back through the mirror from his lair in Chult. “Klauth hates Bahamut even more than Tiamat does. Once we get him to listen, he should feel inclined to our plan.” The Mad Mage wiped some wine from his mouth. “He’ll kill many messengers before he comes around to listen.” “Quite likely,” the lich agreed. “Once we are successful, both Klauth and Tiamat will be in our debt, and we can rewrite the balance of power to us and away from those who call themselves, heroes,” saying the last word with contempt. Hallaster smiled. “That’s a world I’d like to live in.” “Then let’s get to work,” Acererak replied as their images faded from their respective mirrors. Forge your path to heroic greatness in Scribes of Fate, a 5e campaign using the new Heroes of Faerun and Adventures in Faerun sourcebooks. The heroes of the campaign are members of one of Faerun’s factions and have been Chosen by one of Toril’s gods or goddesses, both providing in game benefits as you gain renown for your cause. Behind the quests and glory, a powerful dark conspiracy begins to unfold. Can you discover it in time to stop the rewriting of the world? Will you be your own Scribes of Fate? Disclaimers: Please read before booking. -Know your character and their capabilities. Have an idea of what you want to do when it comes to your turn in combat. -Neither skills nor spells can be used to try and coerce another Player into something they don’t want to do. -Be mindful of your game environment's background noise. Overly loud backgrounds can pull the group from immersion and slow down the pace of combat. -Treat each other with respect. Creating your character
Characters start at 5th Level. All 2024 Core and Expanded options are available. No Legacy. No guns. No UA. No homebrew. No third party. Core and Expanded Backgrounds are available. No custom backgrounds. Think about the region of Faerun where you spent your Background years. Standard Array or Point Buy for Abilities. No rolling. Standard starting gear; plus 650gp; plus I Common Magic Item; plus 1 Uncommon Magic Item. May spend gold on PHB items. May sell back unneeded gear for half value. Chosen: Pick a god or goddess from Heroes of Faerun to have Chosen you. Each Hero will receive a divine gift from their patron deity that gets more powerful over time. The gifts for the Chosen listed in the book will be awarded over time as Heroes demonstrate their faith to their cause. Factions: Pick a faction from Heroes of Faerun. There is a chart that shows faction attitudes towards each other. No player should be in a faction that is Hostile to another player's faction.
The Heroes are now 5th Level, and are traveling to investigate a missing druid of the Emerald Enclave.

Preparing for the session
Discord Free DnD Beyond Account Free Forge account to access the VTT. I will provide links for Discord, DnD Beyond, and VTT upon booking. You may make and discuss character ideas at that time. We will bring it together and start the story at Session 0.

How Charles creates a safe table
I maintain an open door policy for Players to reach out and address any concerns. My goal is that everyone at the table enjoys the time spent there, so I will listen if someone is not. If something in the story is making someone uncomfortable, I want to know so I can make appropriate adjustments. I will not accept rudeness, disrespect, nor aggression towards other Players. Also, this is a collaborative game where everyone gets a voice. No one Player should assume they are the group leader or team captain. Players may nominate others to "take the lead" in certain scenarios, but no one is in charge of anyone else.
