About the adventure
Hello and welcome to the Adventurer’s League! Here you’ll find like minded, hearty people such as yourself looking for a great time while exploring the world. Through trials and deeds, your exploits will be known far and wide as you help the people of Faerun. But beware, an ancient evil grows steadily stronger in the shadows, and if your light shines too bright it may draw its attention… But that moment could take years to come. For now you and your groups job will be to help the locals along the sword coast. Nestled in a cove between Baldur’s Gate and Waterdeep, the league hall is in the perfect place to help the growing region. However it’s still a wild and untamed place, with untold danger and magic waiting around every corner. Though you and your party might travel alone, your failures and triumphs can affect more than you. The League is a family, and any friend or foe of one member is one for all. If you upset a group of fire giants, it could be a fellow group of adventurer’s that pay the price. Choose your battles and words wisely. Likewise however, your accomplishments will be shared as well. Any upgrades you make to the league hall will be available to the other members once it’s completed. Any donations you receive or give to the general treasury or armory will be available to other members as long as they are of a high enough rank to access them. And any friends or alliances you make will benefit everyone in the League as well. So get out there and save some people! *This game will be a private style west-marches. I will be running multiple groups of players throughout the week (one for every day of the week). Each group will have unique quests and locations they will travel to and will level and rank up at different times. However as stated; Hall upgrades and damage, enemies, allies, and trading partners for the league will span across the groups. Aka the Monday group kidnaps a bandit leader and brings him back to the Hall to interrogate. When I run the group that plays on Tuesday, if they make it back to the League hall they might get attacked by the same bandit group on the way, looking for revenge against the league.

About me
Hey all, I have over 1,000 hours actively running games; and once you’ve added up all the research, prep time, map creation, world building, combat encounters, and npc’s interactions, I have well over 5,000 hours as a DM under my belt. I’ve run the same 6 players through 3 campaigns over the last 5 years (Started actively playing February 2020). I’m hoping to start another long form campaign and have the new players have fun for years. If this weren’t enough, I’ve played BG 1,2,&3 multiple times as well as Icewind Dale 1 & 2. I’ve also read most of the Drizzt novels. When it comes to the Forgotten Realms lore I’m fairly knowledgeable. Cheers!

Creating your character
Hello, once you’ve joined the game I’ll give you a link to the dndbeyond.com campaign I have set up. I have access to almost all of the 2014 legacy content for 5e dnd. You may use any of it for your character creation. Please note that flying races will be limited to hovering until higher levels, flight is just too game breaking at lower levels. Your character will start at level 1, using the “point buy system” for ability scores. Please try to have your character complete by the beginning of session 0, even if some things are incorrect or missing. If you have any questions or issues with setting up your dnd beyond account and character feel free to reach out to me before session 0, otherwise we can work it out in session 0.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
When players join the game they will need to have the following accounts set up by session 0. The Discord app (preferably on your phone unless you have a decent gaming computer), Roll20.com, and dndbeyond.com. Once you join the game I’ll send you a message with all the campaign links. The game does seem to run best on google chrome browser. And there is an extension for chrome called “beyond 20”. This extension allows your rolls on dndbeyond to show up on roll20. Generally the game is played on chrome browser with a tab for each website open, then discord chat on phone. If you have any questions feel free to message me.
What WanderingDM brings to the table
The game itself will be played on roll20.com. I use handmade maps from “dungeon alchemist”. No black and white randomly created dungeons on the fly, everything is crafted just for you, even most of the tokens. Which are png files without square/circle backgrounds. That being said there is actually quite a bit of random exploitation to be had, I’m sorry, Im sure I meant exploration. You may have to search for a bandit camp in the mountains. At which point we’ll do Hexcrawls to explore the world. While exploring there are an almost infinite number of things you may encounter. From a lost farmer being chased by Gnolls to Dragon burns that mark the edge of its territory, with a lair nearby… Most rules are rules as written, but there’s a few home brew exceptions you’ll find on our Discord server. I do unique voices for all my npc’s, no matter how much my players laugh. I’m good at narrating battle sequences and how you destroy each other. Everything is balanced in my games and actions have consequences for better or worse. Rule of cool, especially if it’s something your class specializes in like illusion magic. If you’re an illusionist, or a bard or rogue, that specializes in or has any kind of training; and cast an illusion of a chest of gold on the back of a cart, it moves with the cart. If you’re a necromancer and you cast an illusion spell, the cart leaves and the chest stays where it is. Please try to stay in character once the session has started. If you're new to roleplay no worries, no one expects professional actors. Just try your best, and I can give you links to some good training videos on YouTube if you want.
Homebrew rules
**Homebrew Rules:** **ALL HOMEBREW RULES ARE APPLIED TO ENEMIES AS WELL! BEWARE!** **Dual wielding:** Any character can dual wield with any two, one handed weapons they are proficient with. They get two attacks (one for each hand) as part of their main action; then one additional attack for every extra attack action per round they have. AKA a ranger with 2 attack actions could strike twice with their main action, then once more with their second attack action. A fighter with three attack actions could strike twice with his main attack action, then get two additional strikes with their main hand weapon as part of their second and third attack actions. If all attack actions have been used to dual wield, then the bonus action may also be used to attack with the off hand weapon. **Potions & Healing Spells:** Potions may be used as a bonus action, if so the player must roll to see how much healing they receive. If a player takes a potion as a main action, they get the maximum effect of the healing potion. Characters can use their action to administer potions to another player, but they must roll to get the healing amount. Potions taken or given outside of combat always give the maximum effect. Healing spells always require rolling for effect, unless it's a bonus action spell being used as a main action. Healing spells outside combat always do the maximum effect. **Action Economy:** Players and NPC's all get one main action, one bonus action, and one free action on their turn. Some classes such as fighters may have additional attack actions. Players also have one reaction that resets at the beginning of their turn, reactions may be used on your turn, or someone else's depending on circumstances. Free actions may be used as a bonus action if you have already used your one free action for the turn. Bonus actions may be used as main actions if you have already used a bonus action on your turn.

How WanderingDM creates a safe table
So we’ll go over safety at session 0. But In short we’ll use the red card system. If the game starts to get too uncomfortable, just whisper me in chat “red card” and we’ll change the subject. Alternatively you can just say it out loud if you need to. If it’s something a little more serious to you just ask to speak with me in our separate voice channel on discord, or stay after the session to talk with me.
