About the adventure

Curse of Strahd (1-10): You are trapped. The Mists of Ravenloft have consumed you, pulling you into the cursed domain of Barovia. Here, the sun is a sickly disc, hope is a dangerous luxury, and the very air tastes of fear. Looming above all is Castle Ravenloft, the seat of power for the tyrant who rules this land: Count Strahd von Zarovich, a vampire lord whose malice and tragic obsession are as ancient as the stones of his castle. You will claw your way from a desperate Level 1 existence to a hardened Level 10 hero. You will face hags, werewolves, the undead, and the inescapable mind games of the Master of Ravenloft himself. Your objective is singular: Kill Strahd and escape the Mists. You will succeed. You will emerge... but not into freedom. Eve of Ruin (10-20): The world teeters on the edge of annihilation. For centuries, the name of Vecna has been whispered in the dark, his sinister influence seeping into the corners of history. Once thought to be nothing more than a myth—a cautionary tale for those who sought forbidden knowledge—Vecna is returning, and with him, the promise of ultimate destruction. The ancient lich’s followers have begun to stir, and strange, unnatural events ripple across the land. Secrets long buried are coming to light, and those who seek power are falling under his sway. The skies darken with portents, and the ground quakes as if anticipating the cataclysm that is soon to unfold. As the clock ticks toward the moment of Vecna’s return, the fabric of reality itself begins to fray. In a world on the brink of ruin, old alliances are tested, ancient evils awaken, and those who would stand against the Lich King must gather, for time is running out. The final battle for the fate of the realms is at hand—will you stand in the shadow of Vecna's dark hand, or will you fight alongside some of the most legendary heroes to prevent the destruction of the multiverse? The Eve of Ruin has arrived.

About me

🐿️Hey guys, Squirrel here!🐿️ 😮With over 1 year and now over 600 games, I've realized that if you work hard enough you can truly turn your passion into work. And as they say if you love your job, you never work a day in your life! With 10+ years TTRPG experience and a lifelong love for acting (including 2 and a 1/2 years as an award winning scare actor!) I thrive to bring my players moments that they will talk about far into their afterlife >:D 🎲During my session you can expect fantastic storytelling, a passion for group collaboration, unique NPC voices as well as a love to help players of all skill levels! Everyone starts somewhere, so why not start here and let's build your story together!📖 🫂Outside of StartPlaying I also run an AWESOME community of people! The Kicked Squirrel Inn community holds itself to be inclusive to all people, no matter of ANY difference! (Yes, that includes skill difference! We will help you out~ 😛) No matter the table, I've always found myself surrounded the coolest people ever, So what are you waiting for? Give me a message for an invitation, or sign up for one of my games and get yourself in to the Kicked Squirrel Inn today as we all know that every good adventure starts at the Inn 😉 😱My main genres of expertise are Horror, Comedy and High Fantasy with a touch of Sci-fi on the side for my Cyberpunk fans so if you find yourself in one of these games you can expect a high-intensity ride with some of the highest levels of immersion that can be provided during a session! (Includes: Voice Effects, Sound Effects, Music Changes, Visual Effects, Physical VTT Puzzles and more. My goal is to lift you off the computer chair and transport you into the world you're playing in!)👻 🎆Well Gamers, Thanks for taking the time to check out my profile! If you've made it this far, take a gander down to the bottom of the page and check out which listings I have open! They won't last long!Hope to see you around the table real soon, and may your hits always be critical!

Character creation

Creating your character

We will have a Session Zero where I will be willing to assist you in making a level 1 character using standard array for stats, however you may feel free to make one on your own time and bring it to the table with you. You may use any of the materials from any of the Faerun related sourcebooks as well as any backgrounds from Van Richtens (Tashas, Xanathars, Monsters of the Multiverse) Preferred no races from Spelljammer, Eberron, Exandria or any of MTG Campaign Settings, however I can always be bargained with.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need to have/bring: -A Microphone and Discord Downloaded -A DNDBeyond and a Roll20 account (They're both free) -Beyond20 Browser extension for Firefox or Chrome (Not necessary but makes stuff easier) -A Webcam (If you would like to use video, but this isn't required) -A Positive Attitude and a BIG Smile :D -Be ready to have one hell of a spooky time!

What Squirrel brings to the table

As your GM, I bring a variety of tools to each of my games. Aside from the typical stuff (Roll20, Discord and DNDBeyond), I also really enjoy bringing NPCs to life with different personalities and voices, as well as a constant ambient backtrack to make you really feel immersed in the world. When it comes to rulings, I like to read the table. If the table wants a hardcore RAW experience then we will stick to the rules as they were written, but if the table is looking to kick back and have fun then I'm totally here for it! Rules are only as fun as we at the table make them. Lastly, when you're playing at my table, pack extra smiles and be prepared to HAVE FUN!

Safety

How Squirrel creates a safe table

When it comes to player safety and comfort nothing is more important, which is why during every session zero I make sure to ask my players about their limits by doing a quick check in about each players triggers and Xs or Ns, letting them know any content warnings that may be present in the adventure and informing them about my open door, break and debrief policies. Players are also welcome at any time to either take breather or a break from the game, and at no point will they ever be asked to go into detail about ANYTHING they may not be comfortable with. Also, while the game is going on, if at any point a player needs content to stop immediately, they may hold up an X/N or type one in chat. This will allow me to make the necessary moves needed to make sure everyone continues to have a great time playing! Lastly, I am a huge believer in debriefing/aftercare. At the end of each session I will always hang around for anywhere between 15-30 minutes to chat about the session and to just generally hang out with anyone who wants to stick around! This is great for sessions where we may get into some heavier content so we can either discuss it or unpack it if need be! Remember, your comfort and your fun come first!
