About the adventure
The gods fell centuries ago in a great conflict with the Elemental Titans. Their massive corpses hang in the sky like additional moons - The Grain-Fall, The Green Bones, The Shield-Broken, The Lost Guide, and Thunder's End among others. The Titans departed to recover from their victory, but signs suggest they stir once more. Most people live in tribal groups of 50-200, moving seasonally between safe areas every few months. The landscape shifts as nature spirits grow bolder and claim territories once held by divine power. Travel between settlements is risky but manageable for those who know the signs. Nature's spirits have become increasingly aggressive, launching territorial attacks as they expand into the void left by the gods. Strange phenomena - unnatural storms, ground tremors, temperature shifts - signal the Titans' gradual awakening. Resource scarcity has become a way of life that people have adapted to. Fragments of the fallen gods' power occasionally surface as crystalline artifacts. Most people know they exist but consider them extremely dangerous: the kind of power that could save or damn a community. Whispers arise in some communities that the gods have survived and taken on mortal forms, seeking to return to their former glory.

About me
I'm Michael, and I'd love to welcome you to my table! I love stories of all kinds and will happily lead you through your own creations by providing a living and breathing worlds where your characters can find their true destiny. My philosophy is simple: fun comes first. I'm a big believer in the "rule of cool": If it makes for an awesome moment or a great story, we'll find a way to make it work. I love when my table erupts in laughter, whether from brilliant roleplay, unexpected shenanigans, or those perfectly timed natural 1s that somehow become the highlight of the session. Everyone is welcome at my table, regardless of experience level, gender identity, or sexual orientation. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or you've never touched a d20, whether you're LGBTQ+ or straight, cis or trans – if you're looking for a few hours of escapism and fun, you'll find a safe and inclusive home here. I'm a narrative-focused DM who draws inspiration from all corners of fantasy. Books, movies, TV series, and video games all fuel the stories we'll tell together. You'll probably notice some Critical Role influence in my style, but I always try and adapt to what the table needs and wants. While I tend to lean more toward storytelling and roleplay than heavy combat, I'm flexible and will adjust based on what gets everyone excited. After all, the best game is the one where everyone's having a blast. Ready to roll for destiny in some unforgettable adventures?

Creating your character
Character creation will depend on you as a player. We will go over details during session 0, bringing basic ideas is encouraged. Are you a veteran with a backlog as long as the sword coast? Pick a character that fits and let's go. Newcomers can expect support in character creation for their first steps before the actual game session. I prefer the old school approach of actually having your characters on paper and rolling dice in front of your screen (I will most likely do that myself), but use what (digital) tools you feel comfortable with.

What Aeonforge brings to the table
You'll experience a narrative-driven approach where the Rule of Cool reigns supreme and rules bend in service of epic storytelling moments. I (will try and do my best to) embrace character voices when they fit naturally, use ambient music to set the mood, and prioritize collaborative worldbuilding where your character's backstory becomes part of the adventure. Combat exists to serve the story rather than dominate it. Expect encounters that focus on creative problem-solving over tactical optimization. Want to swing from a chandelier while casting a spell? Let's figure out how to make that awesome. Prefer to talk your way out of a fight with an emotional speech? I'm absolutely here for that character development. I try to read the table's energy and adapt accordingly. Some groups love political intrigue and mystery, others want classic dungeon crawling, and I'll lean into whatever gets everyone excited. Most scenes will be experienced in theater of mind, I only utilize the VTT for ambient music, battle maps and scribbles to support my descriptions.
