About the adventure

Recommended for players familiar with 5e and are looking to explore something familiar in structure but wholly new in execution and variation. The time period is late era republic a few years before the outbreak of the clone wars. The adventure itself is the main focus and the time period is more of the backdrop, key moments and events can happen or be impacted via character interaction but the grand battle for the CiS or Republic control of sectors will be out of our wheelhouse, at least for a while.

About me

Hi! My name is Halen, I've been a DM since 2019 and I'm looking to run some games of high fantasy or sci-fi kick-assery based on the rules and guidelines of 5th edition Dungeons & Dragons. I also have 3 years of theatre experience and over 4,000 hours logged on Roll20, granted there's always room for improvement and reason to learn. I've played numerous characters as well, ranging from a Christmas gnome artificer hell bent on saving Santa, to a human barbarian who made his money as a living statue street performer. Being an active player myself, I like to think I have a good idea of what players tend to enjoy but this does range from group to group, so please, let's talk about it! My default game preference is high fantasy, high magic. Subject to experimental firearms/explosives as who doesn't enjoy a good BOOM! In my games it isn't DM VS Players, rather a cooperative group storytelling/improv exercise where most things the mind can imagine, can happen, if the dice allow it too. I tend to be enabling with what players can do regarding shenanigans but I rarely pull punches on dice rolls, positive or negative. If I sound like the kind of DM you are looking for, reach out to me and let's discuss things further. Ideally I want to run games for newer players as I dive deeper into finding my style of game.

Character creation

Creating your character

Build characters independently or with my help. All will be presented at session 0 and any sort of party synergy will be sorted out all together. Characters will start at level 1 along with one rank in a deployment of their choice. The party will also be granted a freighter class starship to be customized further at a later date. Decisions about the starship will be made at session 0 via consensus.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Discord and roll 20 account are all that are truly necessary. The more private of space you can play in the better, for background noise can really throw me out of my train of thought. Try to think of at least one NPC related to your character and how they tie you to the galaxy.

What Halen brings to the table

I will provide any assistance in navigating source material/character creation. I have plenty of sci-fi themed tables to help get ideas flowing.
