About the adventure
In this Celtic-themed Halloween one-shot, you are in a race against the clock to save your village before midnight. The sacred eternal village flame needed to light the Samhain Bonfire which keeps the spirts at bay went went out at sunset and you've been chosen to get a new ember from the ancient Carin in the middle of the graveyard, hurrying to return before the veil lifts. Work together to get past the waking dead and the Watcher at the Carin door to find a new ember and save your village. Set in my homebrew world based in Celtic and Norse mythology this one-shot gives players a taste of what full length campaigns are like. Bring a 4th level character or play one of the pre-generated ones I will have available.

About me
I've been playing 5e with other systems scattered in since 2020, and GM'd a homebrew game since 2022, completing the campaign after 2 1/2 years. I am married to another GM and raising a youngster who is as nerdy as we are.

Creating your character
Create a level 4 character in D&D Beyond using standard array before the game. All books are available, but no homebrew for character creation please. A magic item will be provided for each player near the beginning of the story. Pre-generated characters will also be available.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Game maps and interaction will be through D&D Beyond. Video and voice will be through Discord, which will also be available for chat outside of game! Free accounts on both will be sufficient.
What Jessica brings to the table
Key NPCs will have a character voice. Rule of Cool is embraced as I believe creativity makes the game much more fun. Roughly 3 encounters are expected, all will have a non-combat solution.
Homebrew rules
Drinking a potion is a free action in my game, assisting another character with it is a bonus action.

How Jessica creates a safe table
A Google Document link will be sent to all players who sign up the Lines and Veils document. If at any time something is making any player uncomfortable, I will be watching the Zoom chat to stop and handle ASAP.
