Creating your character
- Players will need to join the D&D Beyond Campaign that will be sent to you via email, it will have all D&D Beyond books unlocked. - Characters will need to be level 1, using Point Buy and Max Health, and characters should be created before the first session. - You are welcome to use a provided pre-gen character if you wish. - Do not select spells from the Book of Ebon Tides without speaking to the GM.

What to expect
Preparing for the session
This is an asynchronous play-by-post game played by Discord. This means that posts will be made throughout the week; it's to the pace of the group. All playing will be done by text, making things accessible for those who aren't able to use voice. The GM will update at least daily. You will get to experience the story and the roleplay, while also learning about (or getting more experience with) play-by-post format. As long as I have access to your character sheet, you can roll using Roll20, D&D Beyond, or your own dice. You will need: - A free D&D Beyond Account (https://www.dndbeyond.com/create-account). - A free Discord Account (https://discord.com/) - OPTIONAL: A free Roll20 Account (https://app.roll20.net/create-account) When you sign up you will receive the link to the Discord Server. Once you're in the server, we can get you ready to go! The game itself will start once everyone is ready (you will not be charged until we begin). Players will need to join the D&D Beyond Campaign (link provided once signed up), create their character, and fill out the Lines and Veils sheet before the official start of the game.
What Charlene Bayer brings to the table
- All D&D Beyond books will be unlocked for your use in the D&D Beyond Campaign. - Thematic Music Playlists will be provided to help transport everyone into the freezing world of Ten Towns! - Rule of Cool will be embraced! The GM will go over expectations with everyone during the session zero about how we want to balance roleplay/combat/exploration during the game. - Everyone will get a custom digital Hero Forge token for use on Roll20. - Battle maps will be used on Roll20.
Homebrew rules
📖 House Rules: - Drinking a potion can be done as a bonus action (roll for it) or as an action (max HP). - Nat 1s and Nat 20s are automatic criticals. - Anyone can use a magic scroll! For magic scroll usage it will be an Arcana Check, the Arcana DC will be 10 + spell level. - Pulling out a weapon is a free action. Switching weapons when you already have one out is a bonus action. - Familiars will have the same initiative as you. - If you don't feel comfortable doing a character voice, that is totally ok!

How Charlene Bayer creates a safe table
- A lines and veils consent form will be sent out in advance along with the D&D Beyond Campaign Link and Roll20 Link. Please fill it out to the best of your ability before our session, and we can go over it during the session. - There will be a text-based session zero featuring introductions, safety tool explanation, and expectations for the game. - If at any time during the game you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, you can type X in chat and I will stop the scene and address the problem. - At the end of each week we will do "Stars and Wishes" where everyone who would like to can share their favorite parts of the game and what they'd like to have more of next week.
