About the adventure

The road ahead fades into mist. The air grows cold, heavy with the scent of wet earth and woodsmoke. A hush settles over the land, broken only by the faint creak of branches in the wind—like whispers just beyond hearing. Somewhere in the distance, a wolf howls. No map marks this place. No songs speak of it. Yet the mists have found you all the same. They creep across the ground, curling around your boots, beckoning you forward. Behind them lies a valley forgotten by time—ancient, brooding, and bound in shadow. The people who dwell there are weary souls. Their eyes dart toward the forests at dusk, their doors barred at night. They speak in hushed tones of shapes that move between the trees, of laughter carried on the wind when no one should be laughing. Above their villages rises a castle of dark stone and sweeping towers, always watching, always waiting. Some say its master has ruled for generations. Others say he has never died. The sun here is pale, as though afraid to linger. The roads twist and turn back upon themselves. Even the air feels different—thicker, quieter, like the world itself is holding its breath. Yet there is beauty, too: the haunting melody of a distant violin, the gleam of moonlight on silver mist, the promise of mystery behind every shadowed door. Few who enter this land do so by choice. Fewer still find the way back. But fate has drawn you here—perhaps to uncover the truth, perhaps to challenge the darkness, or perhaps to learn what it truly means to be tested by it. Whether you are a hero seeking glory, a wanderer running from your past, or a fool chasing a story best left untold, the mists care little. They open only when they wish… and they do not always open again. Gather your courage. Sharpen your blade. Hold fast to the light that burns within you—for you will need it more than ever. Welcome to the valley of Barovia. The mists have been waiting for you.

About me

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will take place before session 0 privately with each one of you expect if you want to be all together when doing so, we'll use roll20, character levels will be determined by the number of players and homebrew is welcome

What to expect

Preparing for the session

All you need is a discord account and a roll20 account (dnd beyond also accepted,I just prefer roll20 for it's simplicity and availability for customizations)

What Giorgos Bitounis (GB10) brings to the table

You'll see a lot of artwork and music fitting the theme, letting you travel to the setting we're playing, you determine whether you want more images or less so you can imagine it for yourself,if you got something cool in your mind and the table is happy with it,it happens and most importantly this is not the book Curse of Strahd as written, it is inspired by it to give a nice twist to a classic and add a lovely DLC arc using the Mists

Homebrew rules

Drinking a potion is a free action, death saves calculate your constitution saving throw as well, meaning anything from 10+ is a succes a nat 1 is 2 failures and a nat 20 is 2 successful saves,a nat 20 on initiative means you get an extra round for the start of the combat while a nat 1 means you lose the first round due to being alert or under prepared for each,we don't always burn spellslots for stuff, especially in lower levels due to spellcasters being really weak early on, rewarding with inspiration a lot,and alternative use of inspiration->describe what you wanna do and use your inspection instead of rolling for it I think that's about it,if I forgot anything I'll let you know as we go
