About the adventure

BEGINNER/FIRST TIME PLAYER FRIENDLY!! For fans of urban fantasy, small town mysteries, and the supernatural! ****Discover the extraordinary and the horrifying in small town 1990s Oklahoma. ****Utilize your wits and creativity to fight threats greater than you have ever faced as an ordinary person. ****Engage in a lot of roleplaying, difficult combat, and a ton of teamwork! ABOUT: Southside of Tulsa, Oklahoma, 1990. While the city is bustling and full of life, you are isolated in The Castle, an apartment complex off of Creek Highway. The closest entertainment is the Fill and Dash, the gas station across the street, and the games and adventures you and your friends come up with. The more daring in The Castle sneak out to spend the night in Alsuma, the nearby ghost town that was completely abandoned in the 70s. However, your group wants to explore closer to home; Apartment 4F on the top floor of your building has never been rented out. Rumors of wailing, thudding, and crashing in the dead of night have been spreading, but the maintenance man dismisses all these fears. Your group plans to steal his keys to access 4F and settle these rumors yourselves.

About me

Hi! My name is Noah, Micah, and NoahMicah, you can choose whatever to call me. My pronouns are he/him/his and they/them/theirs and I am half Filipino. I have been GM-ing since 2020, beginning with a way too ambitious homebrewed D&D 5e original story that I still hold dear in my heart. I am an aspiring writer and, as such, I prioritize storytelling and making sure I incorporate as much of my players’ wants and desires for their characters as much as possible. The aspect of communal storytelling is what I love the most about GM-ing TTRPGs. This also includes making sure I make everyone feel comfortable and welcome, be that in ensuring boundaries are respected to incorporating players’ experiences and cultures in the story. I am very proud of my Filipino culture and include that in as many games as possible, so I extend that to my players too. I want to make sure everyone feels heard and has a ton of fun at the same time! Genres I tend to gravitate towards are horror, fantasy, science fiction, and modern/slice of life. Often, I blend one or two or three of these together. If you are looking for deep worldbuilding and a table where your voice is heard and listened to, come on in! I hold all my games on Discord and will provide you with a link when you sign up. I look forward to getting to know you!

Character creation

Creating your character

We will create our characters in session 0, but when thinking of your character, keep in mind that your character needs to be either a child or a teenager. You can consult the playbooks for Kids on Bikes for ideas. If none of them fit exactly the character you want to play, we can discuss that further in session 0.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You must have a Discord account, Internet, a microphone, and a computer or phone. You will also need a d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, and d20, or an online dice roller.

What Noah Micah brings to the table

I focus on roleplaying first and foremost, and when combat does happen, I make it as challenging as possible to make it feel rewarding and to inspire players to think of creative solutions. I also do this to encourage players to brainstorm ideas together, I want to encourage teamwork and sharing the spotlight by doing this. While I mostly follow the system's rules, I will always value rewarding player creativity and story over the rules.

Safety

How Noah Micah creates a safe table

I will discuss possible triggering things that will happen in this campaign during session 0. I will also send all players a link to a Lines and Veils document of things that may come up that you can answer you do not want included in the campaign or you are fine with allusions to in the campaign. During the game, if something comes up that I did not account for in the document, please say or type "line" or "veil" and I will adjust accordingly. After every session there will also be time to unwind and talk about how we feel, along with a break during every session. NOTE: Sexual assault will NEVER be included in my games, and I do not tolerate players that try to include that. I also do not tolerate players being sexist, racist, transphobic, queerphobic etc to each other. As for exploring these topics in game (other than assault) due to the time setting, we can discuss how much we are comfortable with including, if anything at all. I am more than happy to play in a 1990 where everyone was able to be open and be themselves with no fear.
