About the adventure

It's been a few weeks since the Mad Mage Hal'Aster Blackcloak has released his curse upon the world. Plants now grow much slower, and animal birthrates have plummeted as food prices begin to skyrocket to new highs. Food has become a precious commodity and adventurers and commoners alike rush to secure food to feed themselves and their families and friends and so far, all attempts to descend into the Mad Mage's dungeon of Undermountain to put a stop to his curse have failed miserably. If someone isn't able to stop him soon, the entire Sword Coast could be hit with a famine the likes never seen before! That's where you come in! Durnan has begun waiving the fee for adventurers to descend into Undermountain in hopes to not only put a stop to the Mad Mage but in hopes of finding some alternative food sources that can be collected and used in the meantime for some new recipes topside and he's just about ready to try anything! Are you ready to descend through the Mad Mage's Dungeon, collect strange ingredients and recipes and stop the Mad Mage's curse? Let's get cooking! (Get ready for Dungeon of the Mad Mage with a Dungeon Meshi twist! Collect ingredients from plants and monsters alike and cook them up into interesting recipes that will provide unique benefits for your characters! Collect animal parts to make yourself equipment and magical items in your downtime, all while helping Durnan keep the people of Waterdeep fed!)

About me

🐿️Hey guys, Squirrel here!🐿️ 😮With over 1 year and now over 600 games, I've realized that if you work hard enough you can truly turn your passion into work. And as they say if you love your job, you never work a day in your life! With 10+ years TTRPG experience and a lifelong love for acting (including 2 and a 1/2 years as an award winning scare actor!) I thrive to bring my players moments that they will talk about far into their afterlife >:D 🎲During my session you can expect fantastic storytelling, a passion for group collaboration, unique NPC voices as well as a love to help players of all skill levels! Everyone starts somewhere, so why not start here and let's build your story together!📖 🫂Outside of StartPlaying I also run an AWESOME community of people! The Kicked Squirrel Inn community holds itself to be inclusive to all people, no matter of ANY difference! (Yes, that includes skill difference! We will help you out~ 😛) No matter the table, I've always found myself surrounded the coolest people ever, So what are you waiting for? Give me a message for an invitation, or sign up for one of my games and get yourself in to the Kicked Squirrel Inn today as we all know that every good adventure starts at the Inn 😉 😱My main genres of expertise are Horror, Comedy and High Fantasy with a touch of Sci-fi on the side for my Cyberpunk fans so if you find yourself in one of these games you can expect a high-intensity ride with some of the highest levels of immersion that can be provided during a session! (Includes: Voice Effects, Sound Effects, Music Changes, Visual Effects, Physical VTT Puzzles and more. My goal is to lift you off the computer chair and transport you into the world you're playing in!)👻 🎆Well Gamers, Thanks for taking the time to check out my profile! If you've made it this far, take a gander down to the bottom of the page and check out which listings I have open! They won't last long!Hope to see you around the table real soon, and may your hits always be critical!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need to have/bring: -A Microphone and Discord Downloaded -A Roll20 account (It's free!) -A D&D Beyond Account -A Webcam (If you would like to use video, but this isn't required) -A Positive Attitude and a BIG Smile :D

What Squirrel brings to the table

As your GM, I bring a variety of tools to each of my games. Aside from the typical stuff (Roll20, D&DBeyond and Discord), I also really enjoy bringing NPCs to life with different personalities and voices, as well as a constant ambient backtrack to make you really feel immersed in the world. When it comes to rulings, I like to read the table. If the table wants a hardcore RAW experience then we will stick to the rules as they were written, but if the table is looking to kick back and have fun then I'm totally here for it! Rules are only as fun as we at the table make them. Lastly, when you're playing at my table, pack extra smiles and be prepared to HAVE FUN!

Safety

How Squirrel creates a safe table

When it comes to player safety and comfort nothing is more important, which is why during every session zero I make sure to ask my players about their limits by doing a quick check in about each players triggers and Xs or Ns, letting them know any content warnings that may be present in the adventure and informing them about my open door, break and debrief policies. Players are also welcome at any time to either take breather or a break from the game, and at no point will they ever be asked to go into detail about ANYTHING they may not be comfortable with. Also, while the game is going on, if at any point a player needs content to stop immediately, they may hold up an X/N or type one in chat. This will allow me to make the necessary moves needed to make sure everyone continues to have a great time playing! Lastly, I am a huge believer in debriefing/aftercare. At the end of each session I will always hang around for anywhere between 15-30 minutes to chat about the session and to just generally hang out with anyone who wants to stick around! This is great for sessions where we may get into some heavier content so we can either discuss it or unpack it if need be! Remember, your comfort and your fun come first!
