About the adventure
Drakkenheim is no more. An eldritch storm of falling stars devastated the city on that woeful eve, leaving behind a meteorite that would have lasting effects. Fifteen years later, Drakkenheim is a dismal urban wasteland contaminated by otherworldly magic and haunted by hideous monsters. Fantastic wealth, lost knowledge, and powerful artifacts lie ready for the taking by adventurers brave or foolish enough to venture into the ruins. However, even those who survive the dangers of Drakkenheim may not return unmarked by its terrors! Join our party and you can expect: 🗺️Exploration. Characters embark on dangerous expeditions into monster-filled ruins, haunted streets, decrepit gardens, shattered mage towers, baroque cathedrals, and ancient castles to plunder treasure and solve mysteries. 🎬Roleplay heavy. Five rival factions clash over the ruins of Drakkenheim. A tangled web of secrets, subterfuge, and sabotage awaits when the factions’ opposing objectives and your characters’ personal goals come into conflict! Combine the adventure with bespoke backstories tailored for each character by your DM, based on your secret Personal Quest, chosen in Session 0. ⚔️Combat. Beyond fierce warriors dispatched by the factions, all manner of otherworldly horrors inhabit Drakkenheim. You'll battle undead husks, predatory beasts, mutated monstrosities, and terrifying abominations produced by the mysterious meteor. 🌠Unique environmental effects and mechanics. There are more hazards in Drakkenheim than monsters and rival factions. A billowing mist filled with glinting multi-coloured motes has settled over the entire city, which adventurers call the Haze. It’s like the dust never really settled after the meteor fell. The Haze corrupts everything it touches, and the party will have to contend with the effects any time they delve into the ruins.

About me
Hi there, I'm Caitlin! I've been playing D&D for over half my life and I first DM'ed for my stepbrother and his friends in high school, got the TTRPG bug and have been happily playing ever since. I love Dungeons & Dragons, but in my time playing my horizons have expanded and I also would be thrilled to share a game of Star Wars 5e, Warhammer 40k or Daggerheart with you! Bringing new players into the game and exposing them to the joy and wonder of TTRPGs is one of my favorite aspects of being a DM, but I also love grabbing a table of experienced chaos goblins and seeing where they take our adventure! Everyone is welcome at my table, except those who would make others feel unwelcome. I'm a firm believer that TTRPGs are a huge benefit to our mental health and our overall wellbeing, and I view my games as a bubble of escapism and safety from whatever else might be going on in your life. That is to say, you'll be safe. I make no guarantees about your characters! 💀 I am a fun first, rule of cool DM and I enjoy the roleplaying and immersion that comes with running games, so expect music and atmospheric VTTs and my best attempts at accents for the NPCs I voice. I also embrace the sandbox side of games like D&D and very much leave where the session goes up to my players. Even if running a pre-written module, chances are it will be at least tweaked to allow as much player freedom as possible.

How Caitlin creates a safe table
Every player needs to fill out a consent form before Session 0--this is non negotiable. The forms will be kept anonymous. ***This is ESPECIALLY important in a campaign of this nature, due to the type of subject matter that could arise during gameplay.*** Every player needs to read and acknowledged the Lines and Veils list in our Discord server. Respect is the word of the day--respect each other, don't fuss and whine about using preferred names/pronouns, don't be an edgy mc edgelord and say stuff just to get a reaction. That's cringe and nobody likes it. No racism/homophobia/transphobia/sexism (toward any gender.) No openly expressed fascist sentiments. Violating any of the above guidelines is an automatic kick from my table--no three strikes, no second chances. Life is too short to play D&D with bigots. That being said, I pride myself on my tables being friendly, chill, and not all that serious. The subject matter may be dark, but the game itself will never leave you feeling worse than when the session started. My table is a welcoming space for all, and I mean all, players who want to engage with the game and follow this simple code of conduct. We're all here for an escape from the real world, so play nice.
