About me

I'm a seasoned DM and have been playing Dungeons & Dragons since 2007 (3.5E to 5E). I run games in person, dabbled with online play the past few years. Excited to spread joy and pain on a new platform. I have ran homebrew adventures, as well as Curse of Strahd, Storm King's Thunder, Princes of the Apocalypse, Tomb of Horrors (5e), Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, and Dragonlance.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will discuss character creation during session Zero. Default options: 1. Stats will be standard array 2. I would prefer the standard races in Player's Handbook, definitely no flying races 3. First encounter will progress players from level 1 to 3

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need a discord and roll20 account to play. D&D beyond or make a shared Google Doc for character creation. I do not have all the digital sourcebooks, but will eventually acquire them.

What Kevin brings to the table

I will be using different character voices for enemies and NPCs. Expect ambient music, mix of classical, videogame movie tracks, and heavy metal. I usually stick to the rules as written but encourage and reward out of the box thinking. Rules can be bent if needed.

Homebrew rules

Homebrew Rules(up for debate): 1. Drinking a potion: roll for bonus action, full heal as an action. 2. Crunch Critical: Max damage on one die and roll an extra 3. Stress levels: experiencing a traumatic event such as facing a fear, witnesses an act of extreme violence, or dropping to zero hit points will require a WIS saving throw. On a failed save will grant you a -1 penalty to attacks, checks, and saves. Penalties stack and enough stress will kill your character. Remove levels by long resting and inactivity for 24 hours. 4. Spells that require gold as a component (such as Revivify) must be payed. 5. Long rest only restores half of total Hit Dice for short rests 6. At the end of the week (in game) characters pay 10 gp to benefit from long rest (maintenance of equipment, restock spell components, food, drink, shelter, etc.). *Up for any suggestions if you want to implement any other homebrew rules

How Kevin creates a safe table

We will discuss any accommodations needed if any topics make players uncomfortable. I want a safe environment and will set up the proper tools. Feel free to message me privately if there are any issues during the sessions.
