About the adventure
Will you be the Hunters, or the Hunted? At the edge of the Gleaming Plateau, overlooking the wilderness of the continent of Terrendor, stands a ruined manor. Once forgotten, it is now yours, a simple directive, grow a new branch of the Adventurers Guild away from the stifling grasp that is the Queendom of Therravast, and from here youâll rebuild, restore, and prove that you can thrive at the frontierâs edge. The hunts are the beating heart of the campaigns narrative. Each one is a full expedition, RP at the Bastion, rival-guild politics, investigation and then travelling into the untamed wilds, jungles, mountains, swamps, deserts, and places more sinister still. Every creature you face is steeped in power, they are ancient legends, predators, warped aberrations, or living forces of the land itself. Some are cunning and deceptive, others vast and relentless. Each dangerous enough to demand strategy, sacrifice, and teamwork to bring down. These hunts are epic, visceral and reward hard earned trophies that grant you unique features available in this campaign. When you return, the spoils fuel the manorâs growth, halls restored, facilities unlocked, and allies drawn into your fold as your guild expands. But the wilds arenât your only challenge. Rival guilds will contest your rights, politics that reach across the miles, and within the guild itself whispers grow of forces that donât belong to any single beast or rival. The frontier of Terrendor offers you both glory and peril, and neither will wait. This is about what it takes to be counted among the Greatest Hunters, and the price that title demands.

About me
Hey, Iâm Gaige. Iâve been DMing D&D 5E for about 6 years now, and itâs pretty much been my main hobby ever since I picked it up. Right now Iâm running a mix of long-term campaigns, some for friends and family, some for folks just looking for a solid adventure and a good group to get stuck into. My main focus is creating games that feel alive and welcoming. I love building worlds with a lot of depth, running stories that actually react to what players do, and setting up moments that people talk about long after the sessionâs over. If youâre after a flexible DM whoâs got a couple of homebrew worlds ready to explore or you just want a one-shot to try something different then Iâd be glad to have you at the table.

Creating your character
I will provide a Player Guide to the world which will contain world lore to guide you when building a backstory which we will work on together, a custom species option and unique feats for the setting. Starting Level: 5 Ruleset: D&D 2024 rules. Stats Method: Characters built in D&D Beyond and I will import them through to FoundryVTT, a link to D&D beyond will be provided when you join the campaign. Ability Scores: Expanded Point Buy, you can purchase scores as low as 5 and as high as 17. I can provide a link for this when you join the game. Sourcebooks: All official 2024 content is allowed. No 3rd party homebrew, although this campaign has a few custom things you might want to consider that are available in the Players Guide. You also begin with one Uncommon magic item from the approved list and two Common consumables. Permanent magic items from the DMG are RARE on the continent of Terrendor, most of your magic items will come in the story through hunting and collecting as well as purchasing during the course of the campaign. This list of DMG magic items would be considered a item of legacy passed down through your family, or something extremely valuable you have accuired over your years. It would be a standout item amongst the items derived from beasts in Terrendor. Starting permanent item list: Alchemy Jug Bag of Holding Boots of Elvenkind Cloak of Elvenkind Decanter of Endless Water Driftglobe Eversmoking Bottle Everbright Lantern Goggles of Night Gloves of Swimming and Climbing Hat of Disguise Lantern of Revealing Medallion of Thoughts Quiver of Ehlonna Rope of Climbing Sending Stones Slippers of Spider Climbing
This campaign will start with session 0 on the 24th of November.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Once youâve booked your seat, I will send you a few things: A link to the game Discord server, where all game communication takes place. A link to the D&D Beyond campaign for character creation. A Players Guide PDF introducing the world, lore, and tone of The Greatest Hunters. Before Session 0: Join the Discord and introduce yourself, have a chat with the other players to see what they are thinking about doing and start thinking about what you want to play. Build an idea of your character either fully on D&D Beyond or just in a draft form for us to discuss characters during session 0. Read through the Player Guide to get a feel for the setting and how hunts, the Guild, the Bastion system work, and some ideas of how the character you imagine will fit into the world of Corvalis. Make sure you have a working microphone and preferably a camera, although the latter is not required.
What Gaige brings to the table
I strive to provide a full cinematic campaign experience built to feel like stepping into a living world. Every hunt, major NPC, and environment has original commissioned art created specifically for this campaign by Noman, the same artist as the cover art. The creatures you face, the people you meet, and the halls of your Bastion are all visually represented through custom illustrations and maps built uniquely for The Greatest Hunters. As the party restores and upgrades the Bastion, the map itself evolves and visually updates to reflect your progress and the choices you make. Sessions are run through FoundryVTT using hand-built maps, dynamic lighting, animated tokens, and ambient soundscapes. Each hunt has its own unique atmosphere, soundtrack, and environmental effects to match the tone of the encounter. I handle all technical setup, character import, and prep so you can focus entirely on the story and the action. My GM style blends dark fantasy storytelling with tactical, cinematic combat. Every encounter is handcrafted to feel meaningful, dangerous, and rewarding.
Homebrew rules
In this campaign I use a Frontier Rest Variant, a slight adaptation of the gritty realism rest system. Short rests are not a 1 hour activity, when you are in the wild or any unsafe location, a short rest is an 8 hour period of resting, where 6 hours must be spent sleeping to gain the full benefit. During this time you can spend Hit Dice to heal, regain features and abilities that refresh on a Short Rest, and recharge items that do the same. Features that alter rest duration such as the elven Trance apply for this short rest. A true Long Rest can only be taken in a safe location, such as your Bastion, a settlement, or a properly protected shelter. A Long Rest in a safe place restores all hit points, all Hit Dice, anything else that usually refreshes on a LR and reduces Exhaustion by 1. I also run this with a 10-Point Exhaustion System. Each point of exhaustion imposes a â1 penalty to all d20 tests (attack rolls, saving throws, and ability checks). These penalties stack additively: 1 point equals â1, 5 points equals â5, and so on. At 10 points, the creature dies. In Corvalis and the Queendom of Therravast specifically where this campaign takes place high level magic of certain types is rare, restricted, and unstable. Long-range teleportation, planar travel, and resurrection arenât everyday tools as they require rare materials, exact rituals, and powerful sanction. Revivify still works within a minute, but anything stronger usually takes the form of a single use quest reward, not a repeatable spell. The dense magical Aetherweave also interferes with scrying outside of settlements in the wilds, and long distance divination. Please check with me before taking spells of this nature.

How Gaige creates a safe table
Before we begin, every player completes an RPG Consent Checklist, and we go through boundaries and expectations together during the Session 0. I also schedule a break during every session. If something ever feels uncomfortable during play, I expect and encourage you to tell me. You can speak up in the moment, message me privately, or reach out after the session. My DMs are always open and for me, communication is part of the table culture, and I will always do my best to adjust to make sure everyone feels safe, heard, and respected.
