About the adventure
Nestled at the far north of Faerun lies the Icewind Dale, a smattering of isolated settlements that are scourged by the Frostmaiden's curse, trapping Ten-Towns and anything north of the Spine of the World in a perpetual winter. Despite trying their best, whether through sacrifice to Auriel or other subtler means of appeasement to the Frostmaiden, the Dalefolk remain entrapped in a seemingly never ending winter. You and your fellow party members will participate in a heroic and or humanitarian mission to help the folk of Ten-Towns, going from settlement to settlement and assisting with whatever you can. Perhaps it is to fell monsters that wander too far into the settlements, perhaps you are charged to go far and fetch firewood, medicines and other necessary supplies for the survival of the people of Ten-Towns. No job is too small here in the Icewind Dale, where even braving a day of the extreme cold is a task that proves too difficult for some. Nevertheless, there is a wealth of adventures and opportunities to be had in the Icewind Dale. Will you take the leap and traverse into lands which the sun betrays everyday? And will you take up the bravest task of all: to defy Auriel and remove her everlasting curse from the lands and people of the Icewind Dale? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ System: D&D 5e 2014 Campaign Expectations: High Survival, High Roleplay, Fantasy/Gritty Fantasy, Narrative Immersion. Themes: Survival, Isolation, Bleak, Community, Fantasy. LGBTQIA+ Inclusive! We will be playing on Roll20 and Discord, with customized ambient soundscapes from Syrinscape/my own mixes and music player bots on Discord. You will simply need FREE accounts to Roll20 and Discord, and I'll do the rest! Character creation will be handled at Session 0. The only thing you need to bring to the table is some narrative ideas for your characters, and a fairly collaborative attitude. My tables are best suited to players who like to experience as well as craft a narratively cohesive story. If you're looking for optimized play, there is certainly some room for it as long as you flavour it narratively and engage in the roleplay elements just as much! I hope to see you at the table! :) Cheers, Ajna โก

About me
An organized and intuitive story-teller with over 4 years of experience in GMing varied kinds of TTRPGs - including but not limited to DND, Daggerheart and the Good Society TTRPG. As your GM/DM/Storyteller, this is what you can expect from any of my tables: โก ๐๐๐ซ๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ ๐๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง: By appropriate use of ambient music, narrative indicators and engaging storytelling, I make my "theater of the mind" games come to life with my own personal flourishes. As an asexual woman of colour, it is increasingly important to me that my tables reflect my continued drive to make TTRPGs a safe environment within which anyone can thrive and enjoy, no matter what their background or orientation is. I aim always to uphold a golden standard of table etiquette in all of my games. Another one of my crucial focuses in any game is the willingness to deliver a very player-driven experience. All of the adventures I run are exploration heavy, with the onus of it on the players and their wishes! Every adventure is tailor-made for the general energy and vibe of the group, as well as everyone's individual and collective goals. Though my games boast being roleplay-driven, they are not lacking in tactical or crunchy play and heavy combat scenarios. I take great care to deliver a balanced game that will suit the needs of every player in the party, and my versatile GMing style allows for such flexibility. Needless to say, I am influenced quite a lot by online live play GMs and their styles, chief among them being Brennan Lee Mulligan and Matthew Mercer. I draw a lot of inspiration from their approach to TTRPGs as well as the examples they set in their many campaigns, and I always strive to make the narrative experience something for all of my players to remember. I try my best to weave in humanistic and philosophical elements into my stories, with dramatic flairs that I have always loved to incorporate! As an inclusive GM, I try and cover a whole spectrum of topics. Everyone is welcome at my table: whether you're a complete novice or a seasoned player, you will find something to enjoy about my games. Whether you're here just to have fun or you want a serious and dramatic roleplay/narrative experience, or you want tough and dynamic combat that you really need to think on your feet to get through successfully โ my games are the place for you! More than anything, I find satisfaction from my work here when you, the player, have simply had a marvelous time and have left each session with a sense of wanting more! So, I hope you ๐๐ answer the call for adventurers and join one of my games โ and let's have a great time telling some riveting stories! ( P.S.: Credit for Icon Art goes to @ShionsLife. )

Creating your character
We will be creating characters in Session 0 itself. I provide a wide range of official source books that you can use to create your characters. This particular campaign will have some narrative flairs and choices that you will either have to roll for or make yourself, including some secrets you might keep from the party. You do not have to know these at Session 0 itself, but ideally you should have a couple of secrets before Session 1. You can refer to the ICEWIND DALE - Rime of the Frostmaiden source book as well as the PHB, the DMG, TCOE, XGtE, and MMoM. Any other source books being used will need to find approval with me.
I typically need a few hours at least to onboard new players; so if you join before 12 hours of session start time (9 p.m. EST), I will be able to squeeze you in just about for the session! The current party is made up of a Wildfire Druid, a Paladin/Warlock, a Barbarian, a Rogue/Bard, and a sorcerer. We are currently in Bryn Shander, and at Level 4, getting ready to talk to the speaker of the session. We are still in what constitutes "early adventure" and exploring Ten-Towns. Come join us on the fun!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Even before Session 0, you should have accounts in these following software services and sites: Discord (free) Roll20 (free) Once done, you will be invited to join me on discord, and a welcoming community server of about 70 people (all players from my other campaigns and one shots!)
What Ajna brings to the table
Ambient music, memorable character voices (as best as is possible), free 5E character sheets, elaborate battle maps, a Roll20 Plus game server that will have a few bells and whistles, vivid narrative descriptions, RPG safety tools, and a great deal of mystery. As some of the reviews have said, I adopt a "player friendly" mentality, and at any point of time within the campaign, your continued collective fun is my top priority. I never give my players anything in game that their characters cannot handle, and I ALWAYS ensure that everyone is on the same page about boundaries, lines, veils, and general player safety.

How Ajna creates a safe table
At the start of any campaign, I implore the party to set up boundaries and share them with the table, and I invite them to read the "table etiquette" channel that I have expressly set up to ensure that everyone gets a fair comprehension of what one may be able to expect from my table, and what I expect from them. I also link people to the deck of player safety, so that they don't need to feel put on the spot and they may anonymously turn in any hard line boundaries they may have for subject matters in this campaign. This is how I ensure player safety and comfort above all else.
