About the adventure

~This game has a Trial period, the first 4 sessions will be at $5 so you can see if you mesh with me as a DM and the other players, Then it rises to my standard rate of $25 if you wish to continue.~ At the edges of the Kingdom's settled land lay a small number of towns in an area known as The Weeping. Named from the nearly constant cloud cover and dismal environ, The Weeping is also the start of The Blackthorn Hollow, where all manor of terrible and deadly nightmares live and bide their time all for one goal. Slaughter. The Kingdom wishes to spread it's reach and to close off a possible route for a neighboring empire's expansion. As no sane person would willingly travel through The Blackthorn Hollow, The Towns serve as the edge of an important border. But Live in The Towns is not easy. Whether in excitement for new food, or in hatred for nearing their territory, a nightly reaping of death comes to The Towns. As such, the guard was formed to keep a constant watch against all that would go bump in the night. But though the amount of death has fallen, it was made clear that it would not be enough. The Towns would need a proactive solution to the unending tide of horror creeping from The Blackthorn Hollow. With a dedicated budget from The Kingdom and no small amount of volunteers from criminals, suicidal maniacs, or zealous priests wishing to "save lost souls" Each town formed it's own group of Hunters. Years have passed and a balance of sorts has been reached. Death is still common in The Towns, but with The Hunter's excursions into The Hollow to remove threats before they become too big a problem, The Towns have become a place where some can build a life. You are a member of one of Wraithmoor's Hunters, one of The Towns that sees the most action. For what ever reason you have signed up to a group very few ever make to retirement, you venture into The Hollow to kill monsters and nightmares. You have managed to carve out a life for yourself, one that if not easy, is profitable. But something in The Hollow is different, attacks are on the rise and some have seen things that no one ever has before. Watching from the darkness. What ever is happening could mean more gold, more fame. Or it could mean the end of The Towns. For good.

About me

Hi, my name is Ergo , I'm a 33-year-old Game master looking to make an actual career in this community. My Creative background began in childhood getting lost in book after book and wanting to have an impact on the world and help the protagonists in their journey. I started playing ttrpg's in 2015 and of course, became the forever GM because no one else wanted to do it. Thus began the creation of my own worlds and the characters that fill them. I love to make games that have heavy player involvement. Want a thieves guild in the city? Done. Wizards tower in the desert? Done. Space station taken over by androids? Already have a name for it. Narrative matters the most to me but boy do I love some crunchy combat.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will have an Onboarding Session 0 to go over everything you need to know about the game and what its like to play at my table. This will count as the first of the 4 Trial period sessions. If you join later we will have the Onboarding session 0 and will pay the full price of $25 but will have 4 sessions at the Trial cost of $5 (This is due to too many people spending 2 hours of my time for session 0 and then pulling no shows so I can at least get something for my time) We will use Tasha's rules for racial stat allocation if you don't choose one of the races changed new multiverse book. Stats will be the array or rolled, but if you roll you will have to abide by the roll unless it's a dumpster fire (Multiple negatives and a highest of 14) You can roll for HP or take the average but will have to abide by the roll. No Multiclassing

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a mic, a Discord account, a Roll20 account, and headphones as I use music and other audio aids.

What Ergo brings to the table

I bring most player content in the roll20 compendium, 10 years of experience GM'ing, and I bring a safe and inclusive space to play and have fun.

Homebrew rules

Aside from a few small Homebrew rules we will discuss some changes the party may want to use to make the game have a more gritty and deadly feel. (Ex. Changes to magic weapon functionality and healing.)
