About Ergo
Hi, my name is Ergo , I'm a 33-year-old Game master looking to make an actual career in this community. My Creative background began in childhood getting lost in book after book and wanting to have an impact on the world and help the protagonists in their journey. I started playing ttrpg's in 2015 and of course, became the forever GM because no one else wanted to do it. Thus began the creation of my own worlds and the characters that fill them. I love to make games that have heavy player involvement. Want a thieves guild in the city? Done. Wizards tower in the desert? Done. Space station taken over by androids? Already have a name for it. Narrative matters the most to me but boy do I love some crunchy combat.

I got started GMing...
By wanting to tell stories that others could have impact in. Everyone has read a book or watched a movie and shouted at the main character to do something, I wanted to be the one to write that story.
My favorite books are
The Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson, the Nightlord series by Garon Whited, and the Cradle series by Will White. Just to name a few.
My favorite shows/movies are
Aliens is my favorite movie, Sigourney weaver, power loaders, and hoards of xenomorphs. Game over man, game over!
How Ergo runs games
I love roleplay and try to give every NPC if not an accent or voice, an audible invocation of their type of character. The narrative will always trump mechanics in my book but will stand by the rules if my players prefer it that way. I always try to go the extra mile in things like background sounds or music and if I don't have a map I try to have a picture that shows the essence of the scene my players are in. My style of GM'ing is the quintennial rule of cool, I like to plan for cool and engaging moments to happen but will drop it in a moment to let the story breathe and happen organically. I love it when players ask to have a scene or ask ahead of time about a thing they want to see or experience. As long as I know ahead of time I'm down for weird builds and players who want to try something different. Also, Homebrew's my jam. Make any changes that let us all have fun.

I deal with rules issues by...
Moving on until the end of session, I can have a disscussion with the player to come to an understanding or a resolution to an issue.
Rules are...
Important and a framework to help us decide what happens when bias would interfere, but can also be an unfair handicap to telling the story we want to see. I view rules as a balanced approach to a fair and fun game.
Ergo's ideal table
My ideal table would be filled with people who make characters to tell a story and reach for roleplay first before jumping to mechanics every time.
