About the adventure

Peace has vanished for this village, in its place: a lurking danger. For 200 years the town was peaceful and quaint, with happy villagers celebrating their bond with the fruit of the local trees. But a month ago the wildlife turned aggressive; corrupted forest creatures now stalk and strike the villagers without mercy. If this continues, the town will be isolated, with no food or water. Welcome to "The Corruption of Alder Glen" a folk horror module written by Ginny Di! In this haunting quest, your party will need to uncover the sinister truth behind the corruption. 🎃 Defend desperate villagers from relentless attacks 🌲 Unravel the woods’ sinister transformations 🐺 Hunt or be hunted by corrupted creatures 👁️ Piece together the truth before the forest claims all We will be playing with the D&D 5e 2024 ruleset. This is an LGBTQ+ friendly table.

About me

Hey everyone! The name is Iris. I've played D&D for a few years, GM'd for a little while. I've also spent time learning improv in local workshops. I think D&D is a great tool to bring people together and create joy. I'm interested in using D&D to explore the connections between people. I want to take us on fantasy adventures. I like to laugh and I like drama and I like emotion and I like experiencing all that in tabletop RPGs. D&D is just really fun and I want to bring other people the chance to play it. Excited to play with you!

Creating your character

After you join I'll send you a link to our Discord and D&D Beyond campaign. Our discord will provide instructions on what characters would fit the adventure, and how to make them.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Please have a Discord and D&D Beyond account. For Owlbear Rodeo an account won't be necessary. Message me on startplaying and we can discuss game setup. I love to see people's reactions when playing, so webcams are encouraged but not required.

Homebrew rules

House rules: Versatile Potions: Potions are a bonus action, but drinking a potion as an action gets maximum healing. Example: A 2d4+2 potion would become 10. Brutal Crits: Critical hits give a full extra dice roll instead of rolling a second die. Example: Instead of 2d6+2d6, it becomes 2d6+12 Rise From The Ashes: If a Nat 20 is rolled on a disadvantage roll, reroll the 20 and treat the two dice as an advantage roll. Example: You roll with disadvantage and get 7 and 20. You reroll the 20 and get 15. Fifteen is higher, so you keep that number (double nat 20s do not need to be rerolled). I am open to suggestions from players about new house rules.
