About the adventure

Drakkenheim is no more. Struck by a falling star, the city bathed in eldritch fire on that woeful eve. The tumultuous aftermath brought chaos, families torn asunder, and a kingdom shattered. Fifteen years later, monsters stalk the haunted streets of Drakkenheim. Caught amidst rival factions struggling to rule the rubble, a group of unlikely partners venture forth into the crumbling city in search of riches, renown, and revenge. Will you succeed in finding your heart's desire or join the mutated abominations that roam the city streets? In this campaign, first played on the Dungeon Dudes YouTube Channel, you play as an adventurer seeking to fulfill your own personal quest in this ruined city. This is an urban hex crawl focused on exploring a city after the apocalyptic fall of a meteor. It is also full of unique monsters, guarding an array of treasures that will pull you and your allies into tactical combat. Lastly it is also a social campaign, focused on making allies and enemies with five different factions with their own plans for this ruined City. This campaign will be a fully immersive experience, using all three sourcebooks created for the setting: Dungeons of Drakkenheim, the adventure module; Sebastian Crowe's Guide, which has 21 new subclasses 13 feats and an entirely new class - the Apothecary; and finally Monsters of Drakkenheim, which - in addition to unique horrific monsters to challenge you - introduces rules for harvesting the foes you kill and crafting new items from their remains! All the pillars of 5e D&D are well represented in this campaign, making it a phenomenal choice for veterans and first-timers alike. It also focuses heavily on your characters' choices and background to personalize the adventure. When you join this quest you will decide, once and for all, the Fate of Drakkenheim!

About me

Greetings, fellow travelers, my name is Leland and I am a Storyteller and Game Master with experience in TTRPG's, Live Action Role Play and writing. Thanks so much for checking out my profile and considering me to be your GM: whether you are a beginner at sitting down at a TTRPG table, or the most grizzled of veterans pulled in for one more "last job" I look forward to making a memorable experience with you! For me the passion for gaming started back in jr. high, over twenty years ago. I loved how much more immersed and interactive a roleplaying game was compared to the board games and video games I grew up playing. The love for the hobby followed me into university where I created a school sponsored organization celebrating all types of gaming and dedicated to bringing together a community of folks passionate to engage! Since then, I've helped tables as a GM to develop that same community aspect. A place where you don't just show up and leave on time like some 9-5 job, you're here to make memories with some awesome players who love the game as much as you. No matter who you are or what you believe, let's have fun together and see our heroes in exciting action against mighty foes! Can't wait to see you at the table!

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters can be developed and finalized during or before Session 0, with the following parameters: -Use the linked DND Beyond Campaign to create your characters, which I will upload into Foundry. -We are using the 2024 ruleset, with backwards compatibility for expanded rules content. All WOTC content is allowed. Homebrew content is not allowed. 3rd party/Partnered content must be approved before it can be used... - Except for The Drakkenheim content, which is definitely allowed, extra subclasses and an all new class - the Apothecary! (This content is Foundry exclusive currently not available on DND Beyond so lmk if you are interested in exploring it) -Abilities set using Point Buy, HP set to Fixed, Leveling set to Milestone. Starting Equipment or average gold buy for gear -Characters will begin at Level 3, expecting to end the campaign at Level 15 During Session 0 we will go over some unique characteristics to your character as well as discussing your goals and backstory, which are integral to the campaign. In that backstory we will identify what the adventure calls your "Personal Quest" a mechanic that directly ties your character into the main plotline of the adventure

The current party

Very early in the Campaign, the Party is just beginning their Drakkenheim adventure! Current Party is Level 4 and are: Jora Aleza: Aasimar Shadow Sorcerer Kraggara: Bugbear Path of the World Tree Barbarian Runt: Human Gloomstalker Ranger Len the Cleric: Tiefling Trickery Cleric Viscount Kohlric Von Baden: Human (not a) Fiend Pact Warlock Ren Vox: Human Assassin Rogue

Homebrew rules

I run a fairly RAW/good faith RAI campaign, with an emphasis on player choice, agency and ability to try alternative ways to solve in game problems. During Session 0 we will discuss any specific rules interactions or concerns you might have, and I keep an open mind during our sessions in the future. There are some unique mechanics in the adventure, especially regarding downtime and crafting that we will be using and give players a unique way to create items and affect the environment.

Safety

How Leland Palmer creates a safe table

Prior to session 0 I will forward an RPG consent checklist, which will allow me to curate your experience and avoid sensitive topics. During that session we can discuss specifics further and help to facilitate everyone's enjoyment. The most important tool for safety is communication and I am open before, after and between sessions to address any concerns or opportunities.
