About the adventure
You’ve heard the legends of dungeons, dragons, and epic quests… but have you ever thought of adventuring as a corporate career path? Welcome to Acquisitions Incorporated—where brave (or desperate) heroes become franchise employees of the most infamous adventuring “company” in Faerûn. In this campaign, you’ll mix fantasy adventure with corporate comedy. Expect dungeon crawls, quests, monsters, AND ridiculous “performance reviews,” expense reports, and business rivalries. It’s part Dungeons & Dragons, part The Office, and part venture capital gone wrong. Your group will: Found your own Acquisitions Incorporated franchise. Embark on quests to grow your reputation (and profit margin). Deal with bizarre coworkers, magical HR issues, and dungeon-delving gone corporate. Forge a story that’s equal parts epic and absurd. This is a long-term campaign with flexible tone: we’ll keep the laughs rolling, but there will still be plenty of high-stakes adventuring.

About me
Hi, I’m Andrew! I was first introduced to TTRPGs through Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 over 15 years ago, and since then I’ve played in many campaigns—but I’ve spent even more time behind the screen as a GM. I love creating worlds that draw inspiration from the media I grew up with, blending humor, drama, and the unexpected. Specializing in Dungeons and Dragons 5E, I also love running unique games like Kids on Brooms and Everyone is John- ensuring a dynamic and flexible experience for every group. My GM style is flexible: I enjoy running lighthearted, roleplay-driven adventures inspired by shows like Dimension 20, but I’m equally comfortable leaning into darker, horror-tinged stories when the table wants something more intense. Over the years, I’ve consumed countless hours of TTRPG content (Critical Role, NADDPOD, Worlds Beyond Number, Acquisitions Incorporated, and more), which has shaped how I approach pacing, tone, and collaborative storytelling. Outside of gaming, I’m a proud Eagle Scout and full-time Workforce Development professional—so whether it’s guiding adventurers through a dungeon or helping people chart their real-world careers, I’m all about creating supportive spaces where people can thrive.

Creating your character
Character creation happens before the first session so that we can jump right into the adventure. I’ll provide a session zero document and be available to workshop character ideas over Discord to make sure everyone feels confident and excited about their character. Level & Stats: Characters start at level 1, which allows for everyone to grow into the group and their characters. For stats, you may choose between rolling (4d6, drop the lowest), point buy, or standard array. This gives you flexibility to create the character you envision. Allowed Sources: Any official Wizards of the Coast Fifth Edition material is welcome. Unearthed Arcana and homebrew are not allowed to help simplify character management. Character Backstories: You don’t need a novel—just a few details about your character’s personality, motivations, and any quirks they bring to the table. Since this is an Acquisitions Incorporated–style adventure, your character will also need a reason they’d sign up with a semi-questionable corporate adventuring guild. That could mean gold, glory, or just looking for steady work in a chaotic world. Backstories can be connected to your franchise role in the company: maybe you’re the eager intern, the reluctant accountant, or the ambitious middle manager with a sword. Session Zero Elements: We’ll use session zero time to connect characters with bonds, rivalries, or shared goals so your crew feels like a team from the start. I’ll also cover expectations, safety tools, and discuss tone (comedic chaos, high adventure, or a mix). My goal is to make character creation smooth, collaborative, and fun. By the time session one begins, you’ll know who your character is, how they fit into the team, and why they’re ready to sign their soul—er, contract—with Acquisitions Incorporated.
This table is all about collaboration and fun—there’s no required “perfect party balance.” Whether you’re a rogue-heavy crew, a band of spellcasters, or a classic mix, we’ll shape the adventure to highlight your strengths (and make the chaos entertaining when you have weaknesses). The only expectation is that everyone shares the spotlight and works together as a team.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
To make sure everyone is ready to jump in smoothly, here are the steps players should complete before the first session: 1. Accounts & Access Discord – All communication, scheduling, and session links will go through Discord. Please make an account if you don’t already have one. D&D Beyond – I’ll provide a campaign link for character creation, sharing sourcebooks, and tracking sheets. You’ll need a free account to access these tools. Virtual Tabletop (if online) – We may use Tabletop Simulator or Game Master Engine for maps and visuals. Tabletop Simulator requires a Steam account and purchase of the program; Game Master Engine is free. We'll determine which one we’re using as a group. 2. Character Prep Create your character using D&D Beyond and have it ready before session one. We will do stat generation as a group during Session 0. Keep your backstory concise—just enough to know your goals, quirks, and why you’ve joined an Acquisitions Incorporated franchise. 3. Tech Setup Make sure you have a stable internet connection, a working microphone, and Discord voice chat tested before the session. A webcam is optional, but strongly suggested. Download Tabletop Simulator or Game Master Engine ahead of time and ensure that it runs on your system. 4. Joining the Table I’ll provide the Discord server invite and links to any VTT rooms before the game. 5. Final Check-In Please arrive a few minutes early in Discord so we can troubleshoot any tech issues. Have your character sheet finalized so we can dive right into the adventure. With these steps completed, you’ll be ready to sign your contract and step into the world of Acquisitions Incorporated.
What Big Bad Evil Gaming brings to the table
When you sit at my table, you can expect a mix of immersive storytelling, tactical challenges, and plenty of opportunities for creativity to shine. 1. Story & Roleplay I build worlds full of detail, personality, and texture—places that feel alive and worth exploring. NPCs are brought to life with distinct voices, quirks, and goals. Players who enjoy interacting with the world and forging connections will always find something to grab onto. 2. Style of Play Rule of Cool > Rules as Written: I run a table where creativity and fun come first. If you have a wild idea, I’ll do my best to make it work. I value clever solutions (even ones I didn’t expect!) and reward players for thinking outside the box. That said, the rules aren’t ignored—I use them as the foundation for fairness, but I’m flexible when bending them makes the game better. Party composition is completely open—bring the character you’ll have the most fun with, and I’ll make sure the story accommodates them. 3. Combat & Puzzles Combat can get tactical and cinematic, with maps, minis, and dynamic battlefields that make encounters feel exciting and meaningful. For online play, I use Tabletop Simulator or Game Master Engine to create interactive, visual experiences. I also enjoy crafting puzzles, mysteries, and challenges that give problem-solvers their moment to shine. 4. Atmosphere & Tools Expect background music, tone-setting descriptions, and props to enhance immersion. I provide digital resources, maps, and visuals to keep things engaging and easy to follow. I also provide D&D Beyond campaign access, so all players have shared books and tools at their fingertips. 5. The Table Environment My games are collaborative and inclusive—I want everyone to have the chance to contribute and feel like a valued member of the group. I keep the pace flexible. If the group wants high-energy combat, we’ll lean into that; if you want slower, character-driven exploration, I’ll adjust. At the end of the day, what I provide is a table where you can immerse yourself in the world, feel supported in your creativity, and share memorable stories with your fellow adventurers.
Homebrew rules
For this campaign, I’ll be running the game using the official rules from Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition, with no plans for homebrew mechanics. I believe the published ruleset provides plenty of structure and flexibility on its own, and it allows players—new and experienced alike—to jump in without needing to learn extra systems. That said, while I don’t use mechanical homebrew, I do embrace creativity and the Rule of Cool. If you want to attempt something outside the box, I’ll work with you to make it fun and rewarding within the framework of the rules.

How Big Bad Evil Gaming creates a safe table
Player safety and comfort are top priorities in my games. I start with a Session 0 where we cover expectations, tone, and safety tools, ensuring everyone is on the same page before we dive into play. During this session, we’ll also establish Lines and Veils (topics to avoid or fade to black), as well as an Open Door Policy so anyone can step away if they need to. Breaks are built in as needed, and I make space for aftercare and debriefing at the end of sessions so players can process big moments, share highlights, and step back into real life smoothly. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and collaborative table where players feel comfortable exploring the adventure, knowing their boundaries will be respected.
