About the adventure
Something was taken from you—something personal, powerful, and irreplaceable. No thief was seen, no trail left behind, no answers given. But in the sprawling coastal city of Port Damali, amid the celebration and chaos of the Day of Challenging, an opportunity emerges. The gods are watching. One has offered a boon—a single divine truth—for the champion of the festival’s legendary battle royale. This campaign begins with action, intrigue, and mystery. Set in Wildemount, it draws on rich lore and character-driven storytelling. You’ll travel from bustling city-states to ancient ruins, facing strange magic, political tensions, and dangerous factions. At its heart, this is a story about reclaiming what was stolen, unraveling a larger mystery that connects your past to something far greater than you imagined. The tone blends heroic adventure, divine mystery, and moral choice. Expect a mix of combat, roleplay, exploration, and puzzles, where your backstory matters and consequences are real. You'll compete for answers—but ultimately must work together to uncover the truth and confront the power behind the theft. This game is for players who love collaborative storytelling, dynamic characters, and a world that reacts to your actions. Whether you’re a veteran adventurer or new to Wildemount, you’ll find a story worth fighting for—and secrets worth stealing back.

About me
Hi, I'm Amalthyon! You can also call me Oak. I'm a very player focused GM and enjoy relying on character backstory for big plot points and rely heavily on a network of safety tools to ensure everyone is comfortable and having a good time. Roleplay and dynamic combats are my bread and butter. Mystery and intrigue are my go to frameworks for plot, and combats usually have more than one objective. I love creating a safe space out of character that welcomes player characters to engage in emotionally intense scenes and conflicts. Aftercare and frequent check ins are key for providing the comfort and safety needed! I have over a decade of experience GMing dungeons and dragons. I started out with 3.5 when I was a teenager and moved to 5e shortly after it was published. I've been dabbling with the 2024 edition in home games since it was published as well, but 5e is really where I live. I also print and paint fully customizable minis, statuettes, and keepsakes! This is an additional optional feature. Shipping is free, ask me about sizes and pricing!
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
I'll host a free session 0 to include character creation. I like to do character creation together as a party in order to establish bonds between characters that might know each other before the start of the campaign, as well as balance party composition. Players are encouraged to come to session 0 with a couple different character ideas. These should include species/class options, an idea of the vibe or role of the character, and an idea of why you're willing to work with these devils. Homebrew pitches are allowed with GM discretion. Characters will start at level 3. Stats will be rolled on Roll20 using the 4d6, drop the lowest method, with the option to reroll your lowest stat. You may choose to use standard array or point buy if opposed to rolling. You'll also need a free level 1 feat and a minor magic item (common-uncommon) You can use DnD Beyond for character sheets instead as long as you use the Beyond20 plugin to show your rolls in Roll20. I would like to stream this campaign but if ANYONE is uncomfortable doing so, we will play as normal in private so don't let that discourage you from joining.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
To prepare, you'll need to have a Discord account for audio and general communications. I will provide a link for the Discord server we will use. You'll also need a Roll20 account, which we use for character sheets, maps, and handouts. I'll provide a link to join here as well.
What Amalthyon brings to the table
I pride myself on creating a safe and inclusive environment to ensure the comfort of my players in order to encourage intense roleplay experiences. Balancing high stakes emotional scenes with comedic relief enables this. I enjoy creating unique and interesting NPCs, curating playlists for every occasion, utilizing various maps and handouts, and providing character art for key NPCs. I also print and paint fully customizable minis, statuettes, and keepsakes! This is an additional optional feature. Shipping is free, ask me about sizes and pricing!

How Amalthyon creates a safe table
Once you sign up for my games, I'll send over a link for my Lines and Veils document as the first line of defense. The data from this document will be compiled and provided to the table anonymously, posted in the game server, and reviewed in session 0. During play, I utilize a red yellow green safety deck in Roll20. Players can anonymously deal out a green card to encourage a scene to keep progressing, a yellow card to pause and move on from the scene, or a red card to indicate a full stop where we will take a short 10-20 minute break to reset before continuing. Players are always welcome to privately message me if they need to talk or want to adjust the lines and veils/provide feedback on what to avoid in the future. I like to wrap up a session with 15-20 minutes of open space to talk about anything anyone feels they need to talk about. Whether this is idle chatter to come down from the events of the game, talk over something that happened, compliment their fellow players, or anything else that might be on their mind.
