About the adventure

No one know what rewards actually await at the end of the Knife's Edge. You've heard rumors, of course, but you can't be sure that anyone has actually made it to the end of that strange mountain ridge. You and your companions have varying motivations for setting out on the path, but at least you're not alone, because all you can be sure of is that the Knife's Edge will challenge your body and soul. Tone: Adventurous, Dramatic, Curious, Existential Themes: Hope in the face of Desperation, Found Family, (More to be added with player input in Session 0) Guiding Question: Who are we when a wish is on the line? How Many Daggers is Too Many? is a Beginner-Friendly short campaign. You do not need to know how to play Daggerheart to join - I will guide everyone through the rules as often as players need.

About me

I have long been an avid storyteller, and I look forward to creating amazing stories with you. My games include fun homebrew creatures and mechanics, and unique and interesting premises. I'm a fairly laid-back GM, open to players trying out homebrew character creation options. I also strive to run tables that are safe and fun, for everyone. You're sitting at a table, the old wood smooth under your fingers as you scoop up the cold smooth dice, turning them in your fingers. The small woman in front of you looks up, and with a smile, says, "so what do you want to do?"

Character creation

Creating your character

I will help players with character creation in the Discord channel or in a video chat over Discord before the first session. Character creation will follow Daggerheart rules at 1st level. Players may use a printed character sheet or a digital pdf. Daggerheart playtest material may be used if approved by me before the game starts.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need a Discord account and will need to join my gaming Discord server.

What Sadie brings to the table

I will provide access to my gaming discord, where each table has a set of private channels including Session 0, Live Reactions, and a general table channel. As a GM, I love to prioritize the story that the players are telling and the themes we've decided to explore, so feel free to tell me, as a table, where you see the story headed!

Safety

How Sadie creates a safe table

I will adjust my session prep and game content according to the Lines and Veils for the table, and will send a link to the Lines and Veils Document. During Session 0, we will discuss: Lines and Veils X/N/O cards Story goals Characters and character relationships Additional campaign info Anything else players need me to address Anything can be added to the Lines and Veils document at any time, and I will adjust the game accordingly. During sessions, I honor any attempt to signify an X card, even if it is not the method we discussed in Session 0. Players are free to leave a session at any time (bathroom break, family emergency, triggering content), and are welcome to return when they are able. (If a player consistently misses large chunks of sessions, I will check in with the player to see if I can better support them, or if the campaign is no longer a good fit for them.) A bio break will be held approximately halfway through each session, for 10-15 minutes. Players are free to take additional bio breaks as needed. After a session, I will check in with the table on how we feel about the session. If the table would like to use an additional post session exercise like Stars and Wishes, I'd be more than happy to facilitate it.
