About the adventure
"The cobblestone path winds its way through the dark forest. Sickly looking trees loom above you obscuring your view of the unfamiliar constellations in the black sky. Your torchlight flickering fitfully, making you feel rather small and exposed." "Suddenly, from somewhere up ahead, hoofbeats coming your way. And from behind you torchlight and voices. Are they friends? Or are they foes? Is there a difference in the Shadow Realm?" The Shadow Realm is a dark reflection of Midgard, ruled by capricious fey and haunted by whispers older than mortal memory. Here, every bargain has a cost, every smile hides a dagger, and the stars themselves seem to conspire. In Tales from the Shadows, you will cross shifting roads, tread halls of long forgotten lords, and face horrors born of nightmares and desire. Will you brave the whispers and carve out your own legend among the fey courts? Or will the Shadows claim you as another story untold? The path is open, the lanterns are lit - your fate awaits in the dark.

About me
I've been playing Dungeons & Dragons 45 years, and DMing for about 35. My style leans towards exploration and combat, but I certainly don't shy away from the roleplaying aspect! I love to use voices and mannerisms to bring my characters to life. I look forward to adventuring with all of you! Choosing me as your DM gives you access to: * Over 70 races to choose from, and that doesn't include the subraces * All official classes and the Theurge and Witch classes from Kobold Press * More than 220 subclasses * 1000+ spells from Wizards of the Coast and Kobold Press Cancelation Policy StartPlaying has a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you need to skip a session or would like to leave a campaign/one-shot, you can do so with no penalty, up to 24 hours before the start time of the game. If you need skip or leave the campaign/one-shot within the 24 hour timeframe, you should reach out to me personally.

Creating your character
Characters will start at level 1. Character creation will use the Charactermancer on Roll20. Standard Array will be used for all characters. Any class/race from Player's Handbook, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, Midgard Heroes Handbook, Tome of Heroes, Underworld Players Guide, Southlands Players Guide. Beyond those parameters please reach out to discuss with me. Players may use D&DBeyond for character generation if they prefer, however they will be missing out on dozens of races and sub-classes available through my compendium!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need a working microphone, a free Roll20 account, and a Discord account. A basic idea of both the rules of D&D and how to use Roll20 is useful, but not needed. The basics can be covered in Session 0.

How DM Drew creates a safe table
Players can feel free to interrupt the game at any time in order to discuss a situation that makes them uncomfortable that hasn't been covered in the Content Warnings. Beyond that I will happily discuss any other issues away from the game. Session 0 will cover character creation and group culture (agreed upon rules within our group). We will also spend time going over the basic controls of Roll20 and the character sheets for those that need it. Character creation will use the Charactermancer on Roll20. Standard Array will be used for all characters.
