About DM Drew
I've been playing Dungeons & Dragons 45 years, and DMing for about 35. My style leans towards exploration and combat, but I certainly don't shy away from the roleplaying aspect! I love to use voices and mannerisms to bring my characters to life. I look forward to adventuring with all of you! Choosing me as your DM gives you access to: * Over 70 races to choose from, and that doesn't include the subraces * All official classes and the Theurge and Witch classes from Kobold Press * More than 220 subclasses * 1000+ spells from Wizards of the Coast and Kobold Press Cancelation Policy StartPlaying has a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you need to skip a session or would like to leave a campaign/one-shot, you can do so with no penalty, up to 24 hours before the start time of the game. If you need skip or leave the campaign/one-shot within the 24 hour timeframe, you should reach out to me personally.

I got started GMing...
around 1985. I had been playing for a few years and wanted to see what it was like on the other side of the screen. I've been happily on that side ever since!
My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be
Dungeons & Dragons, Tales from the Loop, and Broken Compass
My favorite books are
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams (really anything by Adams, but H2G2 is my absolute favorite), To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, The Road by Cormac McCarthy, Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, too many others to mention...
How DM Drew runs games
My style leans towards combat and exploration, and I let my players dictate how much role play their game involves. My NPCs have accents (not all of them good), and I try my best to give them believable personalities. I use music and soundscapes to help bring the world around you to life. Whether you are relaxing in a crowded tavern in a bustling city, or fighting your way through vicious monsters in a sweltering jungle, I want you to feel like you're there. Players should feel like the heroes they are embodying, and I do everything I can to make sure that happens! I tend to take a rules light or "rule of cool" approach to running my games. If the rules don't say you can't...
