About the adventure
Venture into the Scarlet Citadel, a sprawling dungeon adventure crafted by Kobold Press for the Midgard Setting in D&D 5th Edition, designed to challenge heroes from levels 1 to 10. Beneath the crumbling ruins of a cursed fortress lies a labyrinth of terror, where malevolent creatures wield dark magic and guard secrets from a bygone era. The nearby town of Redtower serves as a tense, atmospheric hub, its fearful residents whispering of the citadel’s horrors. With its blend of classic dungeon-crawling thrills, evocative encounters, and a richly detailed setting, this adventure promises a gripping journey for those brave enough to face its depths. Each level of the Scarlet Citadel teems with unique dangers, from cunning traps and monstrous guardians to arcane mysteries begging to be unraveled. Players will navigate treacherous chambers, forge uneasy alliances, and confront the citadel’s sinister overlords, whose schemes threaten the world above. The adventure’s flexible structure allows for exploration, combat, and roleplay, catering to diverse playstyles while maintaining a cohesive, immersive narrative. Whether drawn by the lure of legendary treasures or the challenge of vanquishing ancient evils, adventurers will find the Scarlet Citadel a hauntingly unforgettable quest that tests their courage and cunning at every turn.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Welcome, adventurers, to the realm of pen, dice, and paper! I am your guide, a creative writer, game designer, and fervent enthusiast of role-playing games. My journey began over 35 years ago in a cabin in the woods, where I first rolled the dice as a player of Dungeons & Dragons. Since then, I've more often taken up the mantle of Dungeon Master, weaving tales and guiding heroes through countless adventures. Based in Florida, I share my life with my wonderful wife and our three adventurous 'hobbits'. Here, in the world of Tabletop RPGs, I believe the true magic lies in the Story, the Characters, and the Choices they make. These elements combine to create those unforgettable, truly epic moments that define our journeys. Join me, and let's embark on a narrative adventure where your choices shape the saga.

What Daniel Shelton brings to the table
I bring to the board a Foundry License as well as many licensed products for 5E D&D and the Midgard Setting. In addition, I have a wealth of knowledge and familiarity of TTRPGs as a DM so that you have a solid and positive experience in gameplay. I am an author that brings to the table a rich world in which to explore and I am a teacher that uses those skills to help players understand how the game is played.
Homebrew rules
The core rules are version 2024, but we fold in 2014 rules where appropriate (like using passive Perception for sneaking). Further, I have ported over Midgard materials into Foundry and have many custom items and monsters. House Rules are available.

How Daniel Shelton creates a safe table
This campaign involves a balance of planning, fighting, exploring, and socializing though this varies greatly based on player choice. There is a ton of freedom although that can be daunting and choices have consequences. This game contains the themes of war, danger, and evil not appropriate for the faint of heart. I am also very approachable with any concerns that you may have.
