About the adventure
War has come to the world of Krynn, and the legendary Dragon Armies threaten to consume everything in their path. In Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen, you'll begin as refugees fleeing the destruction, but your choices and courage will forge you into the heroes this world desperately needs. This isn't just another dungeon crawl - you're part of an epic war where your decisions shape the fate of entire nations and the lives of thousands. I run games that blend meaningful roleplay with strategic combat, perfect for players who want both character development and tactical excitement. Expect rich NPCs with their own motivations, dramatic story moments that tie into your backstory, and battles that feel like epic fantasy scenes rather than board game exercises. I believe in the "Rule of Cool" - if your idea is creative and fits the story, we'll find a way to make it work. The only thing that stops great moments from happening is unlucky dice rolls, and even then, failure often leads to the most memorable stories. This campaign takes you from levels 1-12 through a complete character arc, mixing exploration, political intrigue, and large-scale warfare. Whether you love getting into character voices, planning tactical maneuvers, or just want to be part of something bigger than yourself, this game offers something for everyone. New players are absolutely welcome - I'll teach you the rules as we play, and experienced players will find plenty of depth and challenge. If you're looking for a game where your choices matter, your character grows meaningfully, and every session feels like an epic fantasy novel come to life, then this is the table for you. Let's create a legend worthy of the greatest Dragonlance tales!

About me
My D&D journey started in the most unexpected way - at my own wedding reception! A friend suggested we try playing, and two weeks later we had our first session. From that moment five years ago, I was completely hooked. What began as a casual suggestion became a passion that's defined my free time ever since. I've been GMing for about 2-3 years now, and I still get that same excitement every time we sit down to play. I'm the kind of GM who believes rules exist to enhance fun, not limit it. While I stick to Rules as Written as my foundation, I'm always ready to embrace the Rule of Cool when players come up with something creative and exciting. There's nothing I love more than watching a player's face light up when they describe how their critical hit takes down the big boss, or when they come up with a clever solution that I never saw coming. Those moments when the story unfolds organically through player choices and dice rolls? That's pure magic. I put a lot of effort into preparation and tailoring encounters to match what my players enjoy most. Whether you're drawn to tactical combat, deep roleplay, puzzle-solving, or exploration, I'll make sure there's something at the table that speaks to you. My goal is always to create an environment where everyone feels welcome and excited to contribute to our shared story. When I'm not rolling dice, you'll find me reading fantasy and sci-fi novels (Dungeon Crawler Carl and The Locked Tomb series are current favorites), playing games like Legend of Zelda and Spider-Man, or diving into a good horror story. All of these influences find their way into my storytelling, creating rich worlds full of adventure and possibility. Whether you're a veteran player or someone who's never touched a d20, you're welcome at my table. I believe the best game happens when everyone feels comfortable being creative, taking risks, and celebrating each other's awesome moments.

Creating your character
Character creation will happen with the group in Session Zero. I typically prefer to roll for stats but for this I want to try points buy. Starting level is 1. Players will connect to my campaign link on DND Beyond and create their characters there. Either 2014 Player's Handbook or 2024 Player's Handbook will be referenced.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should have access to the internet. They should have a discord account as well as a DND Beyond account. They will be provided with a link to my discord server where the game will take place. Players must have internet and a microphone. I need to be able to hear them.
What RoguishLink brings to the table
I will be bringing almost all of the books within the DnD world. I embrace the Rule of Cool. I like the rules as written; however I won't stop my players from doing something great. Only the dice can do that. I try to do character voices. Players will also get a link to DnD Beyond Maps with onboarding.

How RoguishLink creates a safe table
We will go over lines and veils. Everything will be discussed within Session Zero as we go over the adventure, expectations, and character creation. We will also spend the last few minutes of the session debriefing.
