About the adventure
Life as a ratcatcher is never easy. Some call you an adventurer 🗡️, which is nice, but the reality is that you and your companions will do just about anything for coin 💰. Tonight, you find yourselves in the Green Dragon Inn 🍺, a smoke-stained tavern in the quiet hamlet of Villane. The air is warm with the smell of stewing meat 🍲 and spilled ale, the fire crackles 🔥, and the villagers keep sneaking glances your way. They’ve heard the rumors—goblins in the hills, farms attacked, livestock stolen. And now, worse: the blacksmith’s daughter has gone missing. The villagers don’t know where she’s been taken, only that her trail leads into the dark woods beyond the farms. They look at you not as travelers, but as problem-solvers. Fighters. Ratcatchers. The kind of folk desperate villages turn to when no one else can help. So here you are. The hearth is warm, your mugs are full 🍻, but all eyes 👀 are on you. Do you ask around for clues? Do you strike out immediately, hunting goblins in the night? Or do you take another swig, waiting to see who approaches you first? Whatever you choose, one thing is certain: this quiet village will not stay quiet for long… ⚔️ 📖 This is a Daggerheart one-shot. While it may grow into a full campaign, the main goal tonight is to help everyone get comfortable with the system. We’ll take things step by step, and I’ll be here to offer extra guidance or support to anyone who needs it.

About me
Hi, I'm Hex—a longtime GM and former event organizer who's run everything from D&D and Vampire: The Masquerade to Lancer and Storypath Ultra games like Curseborne and Exalted. I’m a highly flexible GM who reads the table’s vibe—whether your group leans into dramatic roleplay, dungeon-crawling and loot, or something in between 🎲. The voice of my players matters most, and making sure you’re genuinely invested is my top priority ❤️. My style leans about 70% roleplay, 30% combat, with a focus on collaborative storytelling, character development, and moments that feel personal and earned. I design puzzles when they fit the narrative—creative and grounded, never based on obscure “moon logic” 🧠. Whether you love emotional character arcs, tense social encounters, or just want a group that listens and builds a story together, I’ve got you. Accents and voices are optional—passion for your character is what really counts đźŽ. Outside of running games, I’m diving deeper into the game design space, developing custom content and freelancing as a writer. I also dabble in cosplay and may share my work if you're curious 🧵. If you're looking for a flexible, story-rich campaign where your character truly matters—grab a spot and let’s create something great together. My inspirations and references from mass media include Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn and Stormlight Archive, Joe Abercrombie’s series, and Sarah J. Maas. I also draw from TV shows like The Sandman, Game of Thrones, movies like Star Wars, and more!

Creating your character
📝 You’ll need to create a basic backstory explaining why you’re an adventurer/ratcatcher — what drives you to take on these jobs? 🎲 You will neee some basic familiarity with Daggerheart. I recommend watching a few YouTube videos (or reach out to me and I can share a short playlist). You don’t need to know everything, just the basics. We’ll use the general standard rules for creation, but I’m open to changes and new ideas.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
✨ You’ll need to create a character sheet on Demiplane and Roll20, as well as set up a Roll20 account — all of these are free ✅. 📂 Once that’s done, I’ll share my content with you on Demiplane, where the sheets are created.
