About the adventure
Walk together through the post-apocalypse. Stake your claim among the rubble and ruin, seek your fortune amidst destruction, or claw your way towards divinity. The choice is yours in the Dungeons of Drakkenheim. Drakkenheim is a self-contained urban hexcrawl that spreads throughout a dismal wasteland of ruined cathedrals and dilapidated towers. Otherworldly magic has caused Drakkenheim’s residents to mutate into indescribable horrors that roam the streets in perpetual doom. Hideous monsters beyond your imagination lurk within the walls of Drakkenheim under the cover of an octarine haze. All the while major factional conflict brews over the fate of Drakkenheim, which you’ll have a hand in deciding. In a city corrupted by eldritch magic and weird science, skullduggery and intrigue, zeal and devotion, adventurers of all walks of life are attracted to Drakkenheim to seek their glory. Drakkenheim serves to tell your story. 🏰What to Expect🏰 🛡️Combat: Medium, I aim to have at least one combat encounter a session. I try not to go over two sessions without some kind of combat encounter. 🗣️Roleplaying: High, Drakkenheim is a player-driven campaign where your goals shape the fate of the city. Five factions vie for power and control over the fate of Drakkenheim acting as allies, enemies, or something entirely based on your choices. 🌌Exploration: High, the nature of a hexcrawl involves you exploring the overworld of Drakkenheim using notable landmarks and locations to orient yourselves in the ruins. Secrets abound within the rubble and it is up to you to uncover them.

About me
Hiya! I'm Blake and I have been playing Dungeons and Dragons since 5e came out in 2014. I have been both a player and a DM since then and I currently DM a few campaigns for my home group and online. I never use AI in any of my games, everything comes directly from my own head. If any of my games intrigue you, if you want your story to be remembered for years to come, and if you have the itch to play and need to scratch it, I welcome you to join me and make memories together!

Creating your character
Feel free to come into this with character concepts in mind! We can talk about them in the Discord prior to Session 0 where we will have more in-depth discussion regarding your concepts. You will have access to the Roll20 and DNDBeyond Campaign links when you join the game. Character creation will occur during Session 0, where we will all come together with concepts that tie your character directly to the game and each other. 🔮 Characters begin at Level 3 with their choice of one free common magic item 🔮 Dungeon Dudes Alternative Array for Stats: 17, 15, 13, 12, 10, 8 🔮 Average HP at Level 3, Roll for HP on Level Up (rerolling 1s) or Average 🔮 Additional Backgrounds, Lineages, and Subclasses inspired by the Cthulhu Mythos. Play as a Dreamlands Cat, or a Deep One Sorcerer, or even a Cultist! 🔮 An additional Feat at Character Creation in exchange for a Story-Driven Flaw I will be enriching character creation with additional material from Sandy Petersen’s Cthulhu Mythos for 5e and Sebastian Crowe’s Guide to Drakkenheim to help further develop the character you want to play!
The party is currently level 3. We have: - Human Reanimator Apothecary - Elf Archfey Warlock

What Blake brings to the table
📚I have all source material on DNDBeyond purchased, as well as additional 3rd party sources to help you develop the character you want to play. 🗣️I provide a wide range of character voices and personalities to make NPCs come to life. I prioritize roleplay in my games, and put the narrative above all. 🎆Along with the battlemaps provided from the book, I also bring dynamic battlemaps to enrich and enhance your experience. From eerie dim glows to tiny moving parts that keep the flow of combat interesting. 🎶I provide custom music playlists for my sessions to add to the atmosphere of play. 📝I balance between rules as written and rule of cool, allowing flexibility in the moment should the stakes be high enough.
Homebrew rules
1. Attacks of Opportunity: You do not provoke attacks of opportunity from an opponent when leaving combat if that opponent has an ally of yours in combat with them. 2. Reactions: You may use your reaction to block an attack of opportunity from an opponent (remember: you only get one reaction per round of combat) 3. Dread & Insanity: New mechanics for truly dire and horrific circumstances. A spin on the Frightened condition, we will use Dread & Insanity to test your characters' minds against the profoundly disturbing experiences they face.

How Blake creates a safe table
I will be using Monte Cook's RPG Consent Checklist to establish Lines and Veils for the game. The content warnings listed are themes that CAN be present in the game, but are subject to become a line/veil at any time. At the end of the game session, we will debrief for 5-10 minutes on events that happened in the game so we can decompress, highlight the good aspects of the session, and work through any potential bleed outside of the game. Drakkenheim portrays a dark fantasy world. Please note references to the following are common in this adventure: 🩸Violence, murder, blood, gore, cannibalism, and body horror. 🧬Degenerative mutations that cause physical disfigurement and madness/insanity. 🕸️Rats, spiders, insects, demons, undead, ghosts, and other monsters. 🤒Natural disasters, large-scale loss of life, civil war, displaced persons, and refugees. 💂Moral ambiguity, social/political manipulation, religious zealotry, and military nationalism.
