About the adventure
Dive into the heart of the Old Margreve, an ancient, living forest teeming with dark magic and forgotten secrets, brought to life in Kobold Press's thrilling anthology for 5th Edition D&D! As a player, you'll navigate this sentient woodland inspired by chilling Eastern European folktales, where the trees themselves watch your every move, siphoning spells, rusting your gear, and rewarding—or punishing—your choices with dynamic mechanics like Status charts that twist encounters in unexpected ways. Perfect for characters levels 1-12, this Midgard setting transforms your campaigns into immersive tales of wonder and peril, where every step could awaken the forest's ancient fury or unlock its hidden boons. Embark on spine-tingling adventures and cosmic horror interludes that weave dark fairy tales into a connected saga of mystery and mayhem! Picture defending a besieged village from a monstrous servant of an evil tree in "Hollow," bargaining with giant bees for immortal honey in "The Honey Queen," or proving your worth in the ritualistic "Challenge of the Fang" wolf hunt. Recurring haunts like the Bluebell Coaching Inn and enigmatic spider crones tie it all together, offering endless hooks for epic storytelling—whether you're a lone wanderer or part of a heroic party, these tales will pull you into a web of intrigue that demands cunning, bravery, and a touch of luck to survive.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Welcome, adventurers, to the realm of pen, dice, and paper! I am your guide, a creative writer, game designer, and fervent enthusiast of role-playing games. My journey began over 35 years ago in a cabin in the woods, where I first rolled the dice as a player of Dungeons & Dragons. Since then, I've more often taken up the mantle of Dungeon Master, weaving tales and guiding heroes through countless adventures. Based in Florida, I share my life with my wonderful wife and our three adventurous 'hobbits'. Here, in the world of Tabletop RPGs, I believe the true magic lies in the Story, the Characters, and the Choices they make. These elements combine to create those unforgettable, truly epic moments that define our journeys. Join me, and let's embark on a narrative adventure where your choices shape the saga.
