About the adventure
The sounds of crashing waves and roaring thunder boom in the sea and heavens, rattling the creaky wood of a vessel supposedly able to carry you all the way to Hamarland, leaving at midnight tonight. The wood of the ship is rotted, the interior smells of death and the sails look ready to tear in the storm. As you feel the wind force back your hair and your coat, you can just barely make out the mist over the horizon. The most recognizable feature of Hamarland no doubt, the white haze is visible even in the depths of twilight, a permanent chill. A reminder to all the residents of the island and the city of Frostvale that no matter how many candles they light and how many prayers they muster, death is only one bad winter away... Welcome, weary traveler, to Hamarland. A small island off the coast of Kyragin, Hamarland is a world of Fire and Ice, of life and death, of gray city streets and green village fields. Hamarland is a world divided into law and chaos, and it is your job, your duty even, as an investigator to bring order where there is chaos, to fell the dangerous monsters of a world that has long passed, and make way for a bright and sunlit future. Do away with the horrors of the night and a forgotten past, and rid this realm of the monsters that possess it. ---------- In this Gothic, Nordic horror campaign you are an investigator working for "The Society" an organization that studies and vanquishes dangerous monsters and spirits called Vaesen. You will go from village to village solving mysteries, experiencing love, grief, life, death, joy and sorrow in a campaign not about slaying dragons or defeating trolls but surviving the terrors of a changing world, clashing old faiths with new religions and witnessing the true corruption of the human spirit, and perhaps even succumbing to it.

Creating your character
Characters will be created during session 0 and after using the provided Vaesen RPG Handbook. In Vaesen there are no clear levels, and players will have the freedom to decide their characters motivations, traumas and dark secrets.

Players are expected to have a functional microphone and computer. No Software installations required.

I will bring the paid version of Owlbear Rodeo, that allows players to get the most out of the software, without having to pay themselves, as well as maps for all battle maps, towns, cities and countries required within the game
Homebrew rules
This version of Vaesen takes place in a Homebrew setting that largely resembles the Mythic North that Vaesen would typically take place in in all ways except the geography, instead being set on an island off the Northern coast of the continent of Kyragin.
