About the adventure

🗺️ Find your own Adventure Mystery and whimsy collide on the beautiful island of Obojima, where humans and spirits have learned to live together. Every corner of the sprawling island has something new to uncover, and 80’s technology like vending machines, keytars, and kei trucks are mysteriously found throughout the land. However, danger can be found on the island as well. Rumors have begun to spread across Obojima about a malevolent force that changes everything it touches into twisted abominations. A self-proclaimed "king" has made trouble for the residents of the coastal towns. And Spirits who have succumbed to negative emotions become Demons. 🌼 Slow down and smell the Mellowort Inspired by works like The Legend of Zelda and Studio Ghibli, this slice-of-life game invites you to slow down, savor the world, and form heartfelt bonds with your party and the island’s curious inhabitants. While danger may find its way to your doorstep from time to time, it’s the quiet moments (the shared meals, the heartfelt chats, the chance encounters) that shape your story. ⭐️ The Most Important Part of the Island is... You! Obojima is a living, breathing world, and you, the player, are the most vital piece. Who you are and what story you want to tell takes center stage. Are you a member of one of the various factions on the Island, looking to do your job and live your life? Are you interested in the mysterious "First Age", curious and eager to uncover the greater mysteries of the island? Or are you just a simple villager, who leaves their home for fun and adventure?

About me

As what I'm sure is quite the familiar story by now, I first starting playing D&D5e during the Covid-19 pandemic. At first, it was something that a few of my friends and I did to stay connected and pass the time, but it soon blossomed into a full-grown passion for me. Not long after that game ended, I found StartPlaying, and found an easy way to find games to play in and people to play with. Having played as a player for most of my time, I want to grow as a DM, so hopefully I can help other people looking to play find their outlet.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will be using the 2024/5.5e rules. Characters will begin at Level 1 using the Standard Array for stat generation (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8). When creating your character, please use the Obojima-specific species (Humans, Elves, Nakudama, and Dara) There are specific Obojima backgrounds and subclasses. While those are preferred, any 1st party material is also acceptable. During our Session 0, we will work together as a group to create our characters to establish our party and build initial relationships, and decide on the initial tone of the adventure

The current party

Current Level: 3 Current Party Layout: - A Nakudama Rogue (Thief) - An Elf Fighter (Spirit-Fused Fighter) - An Elf Bard (College of Masks) - An Elf Warlock (Celestial) When thinking of a character, please choose a different class than the ones above. Obojima-specific races are preferred.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a Discord and D&D Beyond account to play. You'll also need a stable internet connection to run FoundryVTT via your browser

What Evan brings to the table

Upon joining the campaign, I will provide a link to my Discord server where the game will take place. Here is where you can chat, post memes, plan your next steps, keep a journal, and see some explanation of certain rules/new features of Obojima You'll also get access to Content Sharing on D&D Beyond, with all 1st-party content, and a growing list of 3rd-party content For the game, you will experience the game via FoundryVTT, which will provide visuals, music, token artwork, and more I will run the game Rules as Written, but there is always room for Rule of Cool if it makes sense and can be justified.

Homebrew rules
