About me

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, everyone in-between or irrespective of that binary...hi! You can call me Elliot, because that's my name. You may know my work from podcasts such as my current project. Issues. If not, then know that I'm passionate about getting people into games that are less-represented. My specialties, according to players I've had, include long-term storytelling, interesting NPCs, and incorporating my players backstories in ways that still surprise them. If you're interested in playing in a game catered to your wants and characters with dramatic twists and cliffhangers, we're gonna get along great.

Character creation

Creating your character

Playbooks will be available to look through and it's suggested to have an idea of who you want to play heading into session 0, but character creation will happen officially then.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

A clear mic, a free Roll20 account, and a discord account are all that will be needed. The rules will be provided to you upon your joining of the game if you'd like to read through them, but I'm also more than happy to teach players from scratch.

What Elliot brings to the table

I have the rulebook both in physical and PDF form, as well as cheat sheets available in handouts during the game. I do try to do voices for characters, though it's admittedly my weak point. I do not attempt to do accents that I am not good at. I do my best to accommodate players with difficulty remembering plot or NPC elements, with frequent reminders of who people are and what is going on, and I excel in personalizing games and plots for my players while reacting to the choices they want to make and following the stories they want to tell. I have sound effects and ambient music available that will be used through Roll20 for those that want it, while it will be able to be muted for those that do not.

Safety

How Elliot creates a safe table

Lines and veils will be a living document within our Roll20 that can be edited and added to at any time anonymously, and will be reminded about between sessions. A break/bio break will happen around the 1-1.5 hour mark of each session, approximately halfway through. There will be a dedicated channel in the discord for stars and wishes, which you will be encouraged to fill out between sessions. The X, N, and O cards will be digitally present on our VTT at all times. I expect no TRASH (transphobia, racism, ableism, sexism, or homophobia) in any of my games and any instances of this will be met immediately with a warning or a ejection from the game, depending on severity. Players are free to leave the game at any time for any or no reason. I would like to be given a heads-up so that we can figure out how to write out your character in a way that works with you or leaves the possibility of a return in the future, but it is not required.
