About the adventure
š Your Choices Matter~ The king of a powerful religious city, stands at the top of everything, from technology to medicine. A generous, gracious, and grand King, has declared war on the world. A rumor quickly spreads about the Witch that has a mysterious request with an unbelievable reward. A single wish. And a Princess to that pleads any mercenary who will listen to her dire request. Kill the King. Because he isn't her father. ā±ļø Sandbox Play Encouraged! My games of Lancer are often 2-4 sessions of combat followed by 1-2 sessions of roleplay. The roleplay will be filled with twists and story progression that makes the fate of the next fight hang in the balance of a victory or defeat. Things can get as crazy as fighting a god or simply stay a mech campaign where the Lancers have to do a job, completely up to the players where their story goes. š³ļøāš LGBTQ+ Friendly and Welcomed <3 Engaging Roleplay ā Complex Combat ā Cool Looking Mechs! ā "Three sessions in and loving my time! Gaige is kind and fun, with great descriptions and thorough explanations ... I continue to be super excited for future sessions, and the lore that is being shown!" āāāāā Mystic "... I really love the way Gaige does worldbuilding and roleplay and I'm excited to see where the rest of the campaign [goes]. Update; after a few sessions, I can confidently say Gaige is the best game master I've ever played with." āāāāā Diero

Creating your character
For Beginners; joining this table comes with a full explanation of how the mechanics work as well as an introduction on how to make a character using the companion app, Comp//Con. All the resources needed to play will come with the price of admission. If character creation isn't your thing or you just want to jump into the meat of the pie, I can also provide a few options for a pre generated character, with a range of complexities to play. For Veterans; Starting License Level will be 2. All First Party Books are Allowed, no custom LCP's please. Also please make sure to pick a bond. I generally follow a rule of cool when it comes to Narrative Play, but rules as written when it comes to combat. Combat encounters will be balanced around the needs of the group as a whole. Also all characters have access to a little magical AI friend, called a Fae Link. This is mostly flavor, but can be used as your AI if take an AI System later on.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need a Discord account to both join my personal discord and join voice calls. We will also be using Owlbear Rodeo. I will be here to assist with both Discord and Owlbear Rodeo if you're unfamiliar. If you are a beginner joining at the last minute, it has a few characters that all have a simple game plan depend on what you want to do.
What Gaige (it/she) brings to the table
This is a beginner friendly Custom Lancer Setting. I will be using the Lancer rules, but the world and setting has nothing to do with the source material, so newer players are welcome to join in on the fun. I have a lot of images that can be used to represent the player mechs, so if you don't wanna run through the struggle of making your own mech, I have a bunch of options. I try to do character voices for major characters or character bits if we think the need arises. For this campaign I will provide sound effects using Discord's sound board. I will also provide music that suits the mood as well. We are a bit obsessed with battle themes, so expect a lot of that as well. There will be a heavy emphasis on roleplay as well as trying to tell a story. I am willing to work with players to create meaningful story beats, supporting characters, and pay offs. Narrative decisions will be based around Rule of Cool. Combat is dependent on the group's desires. I generally just love to make fun combat encounters, it feels like it puts an emphasis on the narrative sections of the story. Combat will be played with Rules as Written.
Homebrew rules
This is of course a custom setting. I do run one additional rule just to keep the flow of combat steady and quick. If I or a player makes a mistake or forgets a ruling and too many actions have happened, we will just proceed with play. This can keep combat moving. This comes from a TCG line of thinking. "If you have an effect that your opponent needs to keep in mind, it is both your responsibility and theirs to remind them," A lot of things can happen in a combat, so it's completely understandable if something gets forgotten. Nothing will be assumed as malicious. With beginners, I will do my best to give advice or steer them in a direction if they ask for one.

How Gaige (it/she) creates a safe table
I use a system similar to X, N, & O's, instead replacing X with Red, N, with Yellow, and O with Green. If a scene needs to stop immediately for whatever reason, players should use Red Light to indicate this. Yellow Light for continuing the scene but wishing it to be taken into a different direction. And if we ask "Green?" then I'm asking if all players are okay with the scene continuing.
