About the adventure

Year 5016U. Planet Havelburg. The planet's been a dust-blown voidscape for the past decade. IPSN has fulfilled its corporate duty by increasing safety measures to prevent the accident that caused this apocalypse from ever happening again, but that doesn't solve the problems of the good folk stranded beneath the whirling ash storms and space debris. A ticket onboard a ship that can brave the storms costs a pretty milimanna that few can afford, but the cost might just be worth it to see the stars again. Good thing there's so much well-paying merc work available for talented mech pilots. Lancer RPG is a tactical mech RPG where you play the role of a pilot of a mechanized chassis (otherwise known as a MECH). You build your own mech and deploy in dynamic, tactical combat scenarios. Leveling up unlocks new licenses that provide you with new specialized frames, weapons, and systems from standard assault rifles to guns that break the laws of reality itself. Lancer also provides a basic system to play out the things your pilot does during downtime, giving plenty of opportunities for exploration and roleplay. The campaign will be a mix of the official module Dustgrave and the sourcebook The Long Rim, as well as custom missions to expand into a full campaign. This campaign will focus on the player characters as they make their way off Havelburg and across the Orion Arm. The game will begin with the PCs taking odd jobs to scrounge up enough Manna (the in-universe currency in Lancer) to charter a ship off the ruined planet. However, they just might uncover mysteries and horrors long buried under the dust before they ever make it to the stars.

About me

Greetings wanderer. Care for a story? I've been playing and running a variety of TTRPGS for about 5 years. I'm an avid enjoyer of all kinds of fiction and storytelling, whether it be a science fiction flight through uncharted systems, or a fantasy adventure of epic porportions. What I love more than anything else is being able to share and tell stories with other like-minded people.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character Creation will happen during session zero. Players will start at LL0 (License Level 0) and will be created or imported in Foundry VTT. It is highly recommended that players create and manage their characters in Comp/Con but it is not essential.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players should have Discord and a working microphone. I also highly recommend the Comp/Con webapp as a reliable player companion for Lancer.

What DaJoBi brings to the table

I use ambient or thematic music, do character voices, run tactical combat, and dabble in a bit of the Rule of Cool from time to time.

Homebrew rules

We will be using the Manna system from The Long Rim instead of normal license leveling.

Safety

How DaJoBi creates a safe table

I establish Lines and Veils during session zero via voice chat and direct messages. I keep open communication with players and also employ X cards.
