About the adventure

In this adventure, characters find themselves in possession of a ticket to ride the Ghostlight Express, a spectral train that ferries souls to the afterlife. This trip through the mists of death leaves them stranded in the mysterious valley of Wickermoor Hollow, where isolated peoples are terrorized by restless dead, wicked hags, ravenous monsters, and many other creatures of the night that never ends. To aid you in your challenges, new subclasses, spells and more will be yours! Create a character with the fateweaving mechanic and see them go through a complete story arc throughout the campaign, discover powerful relics and dabble in Dark Gifts! But will they be enough? Only one way to find out! Be prepared for a very dark story where many horror themes will be presented and interacted with and many people are likely to die, including you. And yet, while there is only a ghost of a chance that salvation can be achieved, it is a hope all the same. Only the characters who embark on this adventure can determine the fate of all who dwell beneath the Crooked Moon.

About me

Hey there, I'm Gnomes, and I'm super stoked you're checking out my page! I've been a DM for several years now, and honestly, it's one of my absolute favorite things to do. There's just something magical about bringing a world to life and seeing players dive into the adventure. While I definitely believe in the importance of the rules to provide structure, I also think the best D&D moments come from letting your imagination run wild. So, expect a game where the rules serve the story, not the other way around. For me, telling a good, engaging story is key, and I love weaving narratives that will keep you on the edge of your seat and maybe even tug at your heartstrings a little. Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or brand new to the world of tabletop roleplaying, I'm always happy to have you at my table. I genuinely enjoy teaching the ropes and helping new players discover the joy of D&D. So, if you're looking for a fun, collaborative, and story-driven experience, let's roll some dice together!

Character creation

Creating your character

We will create characters together during a Session 0. A few general tips though: - Point Buy/Standard Array for stats - Core Rules + Expanded + Crooked Moon sources only - Starting at level 1

The current party

Currently a path of experiment barbarian, druid (old ways or wicker tbd) and a ranger (gloomstalker planned)

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You'll need a working mic, camera is optional. Discord and DnDBeyond accounts needed. Have a decent understanding of the rules already will help, but vast experience is definitely not necessary!

What Gnomes brings to the table

I will provide all necessary source material through content sharing on DnDBeyond and a Discord server to play through. We will use DnDBeyond Maps when appropriate and Theater of the Mind otherwise. I lean toward Rule of Cool but firmly planted in what's written as well. The goal is to have fun and tell a story! I will try to include audio/music but I'm still learning to incorporate all of that so bear with me! Beginners welcome!

Safety

How Gnomes creates a safe table

We will go over most content expectations during session 0 and discuss any major potential issues. I will also have a basic questionnaire to fill out about playstyle and such. Open Door policy. If anything comes up during a session, mute/camera off, send me a message, anything at all to get my attention and I will stop the session to address the concern right then.
