About the adventure
New Players Always Welcome! Alola's Tapus have vanished, but something stirs beneath the waves. With their connection to the Tapus fractured, the Island Kahunas and their archipelago are vulnerable to threats both natural and unknown. The islands grow restless, and so too does something ancient deep below the surface. These islands are home for you; Whether you are a student, wanderer, trainer, healer, or ordinary resident of Alola, you would do anything you could to protect them. Your journey begins when you stumble across a glowing fragment of Tapu Lele's Totem Shell. Through this shard, the Tapus call to you. Take on a new trial forged by the Tapus: Reclaim the lost shards. Reforge what was broken. Restore Alola's mythic guardians to their watch. - Adventure Vibes: Zero to Hero - Humble beginnings with epic potential. - Inclusive Table: Safe space for queer identities and other marginalized voices. - New Players Always Welcome: I am happy to integrate people into our game after Session 1, no matter when you join. No prior PTU, PTR or TTRPG experience necessary! Will you join the Tapus to restore Alola's guardians?

About me
Hi all! I’m Emma, the Game Master behind Cozy Critical, a space where I hope to bring collaboration, cozy fun, and epic adventure together for people's enjoyment. Tabletop games provide a restful outlet that helps us disconnect from the real world for a little while, and I hope that my games can provide that for you! With over 5 years as a GM, 7 years playing TTRPGs, 6 years as a middle school science teacher, and 3 years in higher education I bring rich game mechanics together with an environment where players can feel comfortable learning new systems and trying new things. My goal is to create welcoming games that blend character development, emotional fantasy adventure arcs, and hopefully the right amount of chaos and silliness. Between a professional virtual tabletop setup and my past experience leading fantasy games, streaming TTRPGs, podcasting, and performing theater, I offer a strong foundation for us to build something special at the table. Whether you are new to TTRPGs or have played longer than I have, I hope you'll join me for some collaborative fun. Thanks so much, and I look forward to telling unforgettable stories together 💫

Creating your character
Characters will be created together on Foundry Virtual Tabletop during a free Session 0! Please think of a broader concept for the type of trainer you wish to create. This game will be set in what is typically considered the "modern" pokemon era. Technology is readily available, fairly comparable to real-life modern technology, and relatively advanced for anything related to pokemon capturing, battling, storing, transfers, and trades. While modern transportation is readily available, most trainers do choose to hike, walk, bike, or utilize ride pokemon between destinations, and are often in the wilderness for days to weeks at a time.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Once you sign up for the game, I will share a Discord server invitation link with you :) All of the links you will need to explore the rule-set, to set up an account on our Virtual Tabletop, and to begin planning a character concept will be located in the Discord server.
What Jamie Emma brings to the table
I will take care of the world-building, NPC voices, in-game music, virtual tabletop, rules management, and player engagement. All I need from you is a willingness to explore the setting and build a story together!
Homebrew rules
I won't be using homebrew mechanics, but I may introduce homebrew regional pokemon variants, uncommon typing for some pokemon, and new z-moves.
